I hope Law makes it into the HoF, but he'll have tough competition. Maybe next year?

Eh, I can count on one hand how many atheletes who’s ego didn’t get in the way of making the proper decision. One would think after a few had the “damn, wish I had just checked my ego and took the lessse deal”.

It’s a real shame nobody mentors these guys.

But if I could go back to that phone conversation with Coach Belichick, I would say, “Well, tell me what you can make work and let’s do the deal.”

Well, the good news is he probably wouldn't have made the difference in a year without Brady. I know the team was really getting into a groove at the end but I highly doubt Cassel was gonna lead us to the promised land.

That is to say, no harm done. All should be forgiven in my opinion. Good read.

Hey, you never know. The funny thing was that Thursday Night game he came back to the Jets for was the pivot for that season. If the Patriots had taken that one in OT (they needed an all-time great Moss catch to even get there) then they're in the playoffs at 12-4. Only issue is they still would've been a Wild Card team because of the tiebreaker with the Steelers. People point to the Cardinals game as evidence that they had the juice to win that year but I'm not sure I buy it.

Fantastic read. I had no idea the Patriots were trying to get him back in 08. Would have loved that. Was and always will be one of my favourite players !

I feel like I got a piece of lost history right there. Always wondered if he had any regret or if the Pats and he tried to make it happen. Now we know.

I wish they could’ve worked it out so that he never left in the first place. Probably wasn’t in the cards, cap-wise, but it almost certainly would’ve brought another championship, if not two.

Hate to play the “what if” game, though.
