Poll: who drops off the cliff first Brady or Mahomes?

It has been Brady/Manning, Brady/Rodgers, Brady/Brees, Brady/Luck

How many years will it be Brady/Mahomes?

Brady says forever!

That KC offense has so many weapons it will depend. If say Watkins gets hurt, Kelce declines (he is 29) and they can't resign either Hunt or Hill it's suddenly a whole lot harder for Mahomes to just wing it. If they can keep the talent around him he's poised for a good run.

It really helps to be good when you have elite weapons. Alex smith scored 40 on us last year too. Mahomes will hit the cliff first because after a couple more superbowls Brady will retire before ever falling off it.

Mahomes has incredible talent but is starting to go unchecked with his running outside the pocket even without pressure. That's why he's starting to throw interceptions, as every quarterback, including Aaron Rodgers, is more efficient and less mistake-prone if they can hit someone in a designed decision rather than an improvised backyard style of football. Even if he can still throw accurately on the run, chaos is generally not a good thing and more prone to luck (we saw both sides of that, with one ending in an interception and one ending in a deep touchdown pass to Hunt.) Montana, Brady, Manning, and Brees all learned to beat defenses in the pocket based on out-thinking them, and even great scrambling quarterbacks (like Rodgers) realize they can't rely on improvisational, pocket escaping football but can use it in their back of tricks when necessary.

I think Mahomes is one of the most talented quarterbacks to come into the league, though others have pointed out players like RGIII and Kaepernick; even in the last few years look at the difference with Derek Carr and Dak Prescott with and without great protection and playmakers. I think Mahomes will be a starter in the league for a long time, barring injuries, but if he doesn't learn to be disciplined in making throws within three seconds, he'll end up just another guy who looked unstoppable but got figured out.

So many... He’s the next ONE. These are just more very recent but this list is loooooong and goes back throughout the 100 years of the NFL:
D Carr
C Kaepernick
B Osweiller
RGIII
Nick Foles(sorry)
Every Cleveland QB since 1998

As more tape becomes available, he will sink faster that Dak Prescott with pig iron tied on his leggs

Yeah. He’s far better than dak.

Something happens in year two. Look at jags games before being hurt

I remember not so long ago Kaepernick was the second coming of Christ too.

I say let the kid play a full season before we start building his HOF bust.

It seems very millennial how all these young QBs are off to hot starts and then flame out. Manning threw like 28 INTs his first season; Brady rode the bench and then threw to a very untalented group of skill players for years; Brees struggled initially in San Diego. It seems like a lot of these guys are coming into a “perfect situation” with no major weaknesses, and then they’re struggling to figure it out as soon as the going gets tough.

Why isn't there a Kellerman option (though the truth is, that guy needs a shovel to drop any further).

Any chance you could drop off a cliff? There at least must be some hills nearby. Or a ditch.

Ray Lewis might have killed a guy
