Oh I'm not disagreeing with you, at all. I will say this, however: weed is more of a nuisance vs motor skills than it is vs re-cognitive thinking, such as studying for an exam or, in my case back in the day for example, troubleshooting gear, just so long as one is not attempting to learn something for the first time, such as a New England Patriots playbook. Nowadays if I get baked before I post, I find that I've made more typing errors than I would if I didn't get baked, but otherwise my thought processes are the same as far as my ability, such as it may be, to form them in a manner I want to translate to keyboard is concerned...if that makes any sense.

This is why I am most proficient using the "like" and "agree" emojis

Tomorrow's breaking news: Gordon found high with Chris Hogan in the Gilette bathroom: Bill's crazy risk destroys his culture from within.

Kellerman: “Gordon will one day fall off a cliff and be a bum”

Translation... Wanna get JG at practice and watch him run by people... Lol. Put the synergy of talent, speed and catching abilities on display and have mcD start salivating..

I think that those who point out "it's not 2013 anymore" and that's he's 27 have a point, but at the same time, the fact that he's barely played also kind of reduces his "NFL age" in a sense. A guy who was an elite athletic talent lighting up the league at 22 years old, who goes on to play very little the following 5 years - not due to any injury at all - should theoretically still be extremely fresh. He's not 22 anymore, but he's not 27 in "NFL years" either, necessarily. Does that make sense? I feel like I'm talking about a dog...

Yes good point. He is also younger then...

- Julian Edelman
- Chris Hogan
- Cordarrelle Patterson
- Matthew Slater
- Kenny Britt
- Dez Bryant

Anyway....were not talking about an old guy..IMO 27 is an ideal NFL age for experience and premium physical attributes.

It's kinda felt like he's started becoming a bit of a contrarian/sensationalist lately in an effort to make himself relevant. That's just how it's appeared to me. A few years ago he seemed like a really good resource but not anymore.

That's a common thread between all of these analysts/announcers....they need to be sensational to remain relevant.

Also, I have been surprised at how little ex-Patriot players in the media really know about the inner workings of the current locker room. Sure, guys like Bruschi, Harrison, Chatham, Ninkovick, McGinest, and etc...all have "an idea based on previous experience"...but they have the SAME access the rest of us do. It isn't like they can text BB for the 411....

So, in Lombardi's case...he was more valuable when he left the Patriots as his knowledge was more recent....since then..he has to cook up stuff to remain relevant.

Uh, Lombardi knows that the saying is past performance is not an indicator of future results, right?

I mean, this guy was employed by NFL teams as a general manager... well, it's no wonder that's no longer the case.

He has always been inverting that saying when he was talking about NFL scouting (or college scouting) on purpose.

"In scouting the first rule you have to understand is past performance predicts future achievement."

So that's why you are missing the "no" in there. Now whether you agree or not is a different situation but looking at how players get evaluated it is hard for me to disagree with this notion.

Now the head scratcher for me is where the "always" came from in the paragraph from the tweet. Which makes it obviously ********.

That being said I can only recommend his new book Gridiron Genius. A lot of amazing insight into BB and Bill Walsh (and others).

I dont know what the hell happened to Lombardi. Starting a couple years ago, he's about as reliable as felger.
I never waste my time reading him anymore. He was useful once. Now he sucks.

I am not sure I can count the number of wrong things he has said on one hand so am not sure why you think he is not reliable. But please refresh my memory.

Yeah this guy's a moron, the whole point is that it's a fallacy to think past performance predicts future results. It's often helpful contextually but there's never a guarantee. This is why he's spitting his ******** on Twitter rather than still employed in putting together awful Browns teams.

It is not a conditional fifth. It is a fifth. The Patriots will get the Chiefs' seventh-round pick that was owned by the Browns if Gordon is not active for ten games.

I completely disagree about him being a moron. To me he is among the most insightful national guys we have when he doesn't talk about rumors but about scouting details (e.g. recently about the importance of the second step for TEs) ect.

That being said the "always" makes the paragraph you posted absolute garbage and idiotic. But if that word was replaced by "best indicator" as it often is when he is using that sentence then I find it hard to disagree. What else than the past performance do you have to judge football players ?

Context. Players' ages, supporting casts, the weather, coaching, good traits that may be nurtured with coaching. If it was all based on past performance, you'd never unearth the Rob Ninkoviches or James Whites of the world. In fact, I'd argue the Pateiots have been more successful than most teams precisely because they care less about past performance. That's the better a season too early than too late thing.

I love getting blotto and I'm one of the most responsible people in my house. I'm sure this is going to work out great!

(I really do but I'm a strangely optimistic person.)

Not gonna catalogue all his bad shiit.
I've done it before.
For me, he's in the same category now as Curran: guys who USED TO BE great and now suck.
I'll stick to guys I can trust who are true professionals like Reiss, Riddick at espn, Chatmam,Howe and a few others.

I'm a 4.7 index golfer and I have noticed that my swing is good after drinking a beer or 2... Skiing I've noticed my legs are relaxed and I'm comfortable after a couple one hitters. Riding my motorcycle the combination of adrenaline and alcohol is very good mix since the attention is 110% at 110mph.

Athletic performance requires combo of relaxed muscles and mental focus. The fact that JG apparently achieved his with his own formula and then was honest about it is ok.. it's just he's got to evolve. Learn new ways to relax.. get Alex Guerrero working with him... Lol.

I never ski without a flask of 'medicine' :D

And I'm 100% convinced it helps. Mostly for the reasons you mention above, but also it keeps me warm
