The Josh Gordon Thread: Pats Officially Acquire Gordon for Fifth-Round Pick

Last point in this tweet is interesting - apparently it was supposed to be a 6th rounder, but the Pats don't have one. So no one else was willing to go for more than a 6th, it looks like.

Given where the Pats would've drafted in the sixth it really means no one else was willing to go as high as a sixth.

I agree

He’s played so infrequently though I don’t even know what to possibly expect.

Probably for the best though so my expectations aren’t too high

Agree

Watch him go off on DET ****ty secondary.

<cough>

Trying to stay even-keeled about this but I'm really looking forward to hearing Queen's Flash Gordon blasting in Gillette on his first TD.
I'm dating myself here but that soundtrack is decent

The movie sucks but just listen to the music.

Go to the :45 second mark. Not bad guitar riffs by Brian May

Didnd't want to read 56 pages of repeated ccontent  Thanks for saving me the agony :D

I didn't see the tweet at all. What did he say?

Lazar said, "Welcome to Foxboro, Josh. Now who will Josh stay with? Slater? White? Better keep him away from Duron's house" or something like that...

Question is .. after all he's been through , can he return to form under the belichick system with the support of belichick staff , and the inspiration of catching balls from Tom Brady...? We shall see..

If that was the case then I don’t think they would’ve talked to 10+ teams? Surely not all of those 10 teams fit that mold. Dallas does not. Philly “just likes to have fun”, as their players continue to tell us.
Yeah fair enough, maybe I'm giving Browns too much credit(didnt think it was possible) regardless this is the best place for him to give it one last shot at redemption.

I like the move as it helps...but I don't think we will be seeing 2013 Gordon ever again.

Not bad from a PhD cosmologist from Imperial College (my alma mater).

I'm gonna look at it like Gordon is ready to play and buying into 'Patriot Way' and he can still be an elite receiver. Ok not all in one week but gradually and if anyone has a shot to getting their game on its definitely playing along side TB. We'll See, Glass half full as opposed to half empty.

I’m an addict (Which may explain things to some of you). I’ve been in recovery for over 20 years. Any sip of booze, puff of weed, pain pill other than prescribed will likely kill me. Getting clean is hard, but I worked my ass off for it. Getting clean each subsequent time I relapsed was exponentially more difficult.

I have talent in my chosen field of employment. It wasn’t until I was no longer employable that I finally stopped for good. This isn’t everyone’s story. Many people quit before it gets to the level of dereliction. I hope Gordon is that guy, but odds are against him.

I’m hoping he somehow gets it and my team benefits. Moreso, as a fellow sufferer, I hope he loses the obsession to use and finds peace. Our record at year end pales to the insanity of addiction.

Evidence again, if more was needed, how stupid and/cowardly the rest of the league is. You’ve got this massive talent available and you won’t give up a meaningless draft pick to check it out? BANANAS.

Glad you're in a better place.
