I was originally going to ask about what is the hardest sport to coach/manage but really it was football with no arguement but if you had to pick a #2 what would it be?

I think managing a smaller roster is probably a lot harder than managing a big roster. Mistakes in filling out the bottom half of a 53 man NFL team is a lot more forgiving than mistakes in filling out your NBA bench or a pitching roster.

Coaching? I honestly don't know enough about the coaching that goes into the NBA, NHL, MLB or futbol, so I'd love to hear input from people more knowledgeable.

Also, fart noise.

Hockey and possibly lacrosse.

All pro sport coaching jobs are hard and I agree an NFL coach has it the roughest but a coach I was introduced to for a Premier League team blows though a bottle of Johnnie Walker Black a night.

Confirmed.

league of legends

Formula 1 - seems like managing a whole company.

You Americans are so American. It's Australian Football mainly because every player on the team (18 on the field, 4 on the bench & a list of 40-45 players) has to be able to competently execute every single skill the sport demands; kick, handball, tackle, spoil, hit-out and mark in a real-time, competitive environment where you're expected to create or defend and the bounce of the ball can dictate a change in requirement instantaneously. Try managing that.

Yikes!! How's that any tougher than a team of synchronized swimmers?:D

Synchronised swimmers only have to deal with a pool which means if it rains, no problem. AFL on the other hand, have to deal with ALL THE ELEMENTS (not many stadiums have a roof).

THERE. ;)

The hardest sport to manage is women's topless flag football...c'mon, YOU see if you can get through a half of that sport without a coronary...:D

So I have never heard of this league....and a friend wanted to know where to find information about it? My friend was hoping to see pictures but couldn't find any on google.

Maybe in a couple of thousand years or so Australia will have a modern day version of football. :D

any youth team that has spoiled kids and helicopter parents

Most to least difficult;
football - much more complicated than the others
hockey - nonstop action
basketball - manageable numbers
baseball - pro sports managing on quaaludes.

The more the sport is dependent on "plays", the more the impact of coaching. Soccer and hockey are more about finding players that mesh well together.

Coach both baseball and basketball the HS level. Basketball is definitely more difficult. Have to sub guys. Your defensive/offense philosophy is vital. With only 5 guys it's crucial to exploit match-ups and not let your worse match-up get exposed. Pretty non-stop action. Baseball is basically throwing 9 guys out there and hoping they throw and catch and hit the baseball. Much more difficult at the major league level to manage the bullpen and match-ups, but on an inning by inning basis there's not a ton of coaching needed.

And you Australians are so Australian:D... squirt a lime in your eye while drinking tequila that is very Australian.

Used to watch Australian Football when it was in vogue in the 90's(?).. thought it was interesting, and quick, but never really understood it.

Interesting how we do not see much of it these days, with the wealth of sports channels available..
