Well said, he is simply the best. If there is ever a uni number that should be retired after Tedy is done - #54 is the one.

Do we know when this segment will be aired? I believe I heard on Mrs. B's podcast that it would be today (Wed, 7/12) but I haven't been able to confirm it.

Nevermind. I see on the article that it is going to be included in today's Sportscenter.

Hopefully someone will be able to put it up on youtube later as well.

What a beautiful story. Just saw the piece on Sportscenter. Tedy sure made that young man forget about all of his past heart problems... for just a few hours.

I caught it on ESPN this morning - boy, the Pats really went all-out for this kid, what a great story. You won't have a dry eye by the end of it, I guarantee you.

There was a discussion in the General Forum about someone whose charity activities seem to be a form of personal publicity-seeking. Tedy brings a warmth and kindness to what he is doing that is very, very touching.

Darn it!! I missed it. Anyone know if it's to be aired again anytime soon?

I just watched it on this mornings Sportscenter so it should get repeated til around 11:00am. Tedy has always been my favorite player, he is also a great man! I'm getting dressed and tearing up and my wife is looking at me like I'm crazy (she couldn't see the TV). He went all out for this kid, and the beauty of it is that the kid is going to be alright! Once again, it shows what a classy organization Bob Kraft runs. If you watch it, they also had a cheerleader outfit and cheerleading instruction for his sister.

Just finished watching it on SportCenter, what a beautiful piece! Hit close to home as my son had open heart surgery at 8mos. Will gladly put up with the red/puffy eyes I'm now sporting!!! Thankyou Tedy, and the Kraft family!

The Make-Wish-Foundation is a great organization and goes all out for their kids.. They set everything up but it must be something that the child personally asks for. A parent or doctor can nominate the child but they actually send someone out to interview the child to see what they want... (Two of my students have had wishes in the past couple of years but they picked Disney World.)

Of course, the "wish granter" has to be willing.. and of course Tedy was awesome and completely genuine. When he came to my classroom years ago he was so great with my special needs kids too !

While we are all justifiably praising Tedy and the great thing he did and continues to do on so many, many occasions, there seems to be some other "non-star" people who are getting overlooked here.

SOMEONE had to set up that day. SOMEONE had to go to the trouble of getting a perfectly fitted uniform for Andrew. SOMEONE had to get the nameplate on the locker for Andrew. SOMEONE had to inflate the rising helmet in the entrance.

What I'm trying to say here is that there obviously were MANY beautiful folks in that Patriots organization who went the extra mile to lift this child's spirit. They all deserve our respect and admiration for their great work.

It's a horrible analogy, because Tedy IS such a great and giving person, but the movie "Hero" comes to mind starring Dustin Hoffman and Andy Garcia.

Thank you to Karen for pointing out the Make a Wish foundation and all the efforts they put forth.

Let's also hear it for the workers in the Pats organization who worked this labor of love.

They're replaying this on ESPN Monday Night Countdown if you missed it.

Make-a-wish is a horrible charity. Most of the money goes to Disney.

And I'd rather feed, cloth, educate, vaccinate, etc. otherwise healthy kids than make a kid happy before he/she dies.

that aside, Tedy is as genuine as football stars come. I don't know if there's a person in this world who can look at him and think "I'm a better person than Tedy Bruschi"
