Patriots Arrington Talks About Branch And A Potential Match-Up With Ex-Teammate

Much talk this week has centered around the Colts addition of former Patriots receiver Deion Branch, who is obviously an interesting decision given the time of year and what's on the line as the two teams get set to battle in Saturday's Divisional Playoff game.

Branch, who is expected to play this Sunday, obviously has familiarity with the Patriots offensively, along with experience lining up against their defensive backs.

Kyle Arrington is one player who knows Branch well, and he's seen the receiver at his best when Branch was here in New England. However, apparently Arrington no longer views him quite the same way, telling USA Today that he feels the veteran receiver isn't quite as fast as he used to be.

"He might have lost a step and-a-half — I won't go as far as saying he's lost two steps," Arrington told USA TODAY. "But he's extremely smart. And he's such a competitor. But at the end of the day, it still comes down to winning your matchups, because every play is a battle."

Hopefully Arrington's words aren't motivation for Branch, who may end up lining up against him for the first time as a live game opponent this weekend.
