It appears the Patriots are looking for additional defensive line help, and they're apparently bringing in a guy who understands the system after ESPN's Josina Anderson Tweeted a few minutes ago that Carter will sign with the team today.
The veteran worked out with New England back in September, but didn't sign with the team. He later Tweeted on October 2nd, "Patriot fans thanks for the messages in regards to me coming back. If it's God's will. Till then I'll be beating up my son lol."
Needless to say it seems his son will get a break for a while so is Dad can go help out his football team. The 34 year old last played in New England back in 2011, finishing with 10 sacks but saw his season come to an abrupt end while playing against the Denver Broncos on December 18th when he tore his left quadriceps tendon.
He spent 2012 with the Raiders in Oakland, where he played in 12 games and finished with 2.5 sacks as well as a forced fumble.
