A quiet Sunday thanks to the bye week, but here are this morning's links:

BOSTON HERALD:

Shula Relates to Brady-Belichick bond - Karen Guregian
Gurgegian has a good article this morning on former Dolphins coach Don Shula, who compared Bill Belichick's relationship with Tom Brady to the same one he shared with former NFL legend Dan Marino

"It's great to have that confidence in your quarterback," Shula told the Herald in a phone conversation last week. "I know I always felt no matter what the score was with Marino, we were always in the game. He made it exciting. You never felt like you were out of it. I'm sure Belichick feels the same way about Brady, and with good reason."

Cannon has shot - Karen Guregian
Guregian has an article on offensive lineman Marcus Cannon, who after beating cancer and spending time on the PUP list for the first part of this season is getting closer to potentially seeing some action.

A fitting result for Carter - Shalise Manza Young
Young writes that what many thought was a "risky" move with the signing of Andre Carter has lead to a solid reward for New England's defense.

WICKED LOCAL:

ESPN BOSTON:

Quick-hit thoughts around NFL & Pats - Mike Reiss

Targets: McCourty still most targeted in NFL - Chris Forsberg
Forsberg breaks down the number of targets on each Patriots cornerback so far this season, and Devin McCourty is the guy most thrown at through six games.

TAUNTON GAZZETTE:

D(efense) hasn't stood for detrimental for Patriots lately - Glen Farley
Farley has a good article this morning on the progress of the Patriots defense, although Kyle Arrington points out that the goal isn't to be playing their best football in October.

"I wouldn't say we've come a long way or anything, but we've gotten better in the recent weeks and the main goal is just to stay consistent with it," cornerback Kyle Arrington said. "We set the bar OK for ourselves.

"You don't want to be playing your best ball in October. We have a ways to go. We just (have to) come back ready to work harder."

Rob Gronkowski Spends Time with Porn Star Bibi Jones During Bye - Larry Brown Sports
We'll close with this one.  This article has a picture of Gronk grinning ear to ear with Jones, who in the photo is wearing his jesey.  You read the title - and as Brown writes, "this is Gronk's world, and we're all just living in it."
