Patriots kicker Stephen Gostkowski reportedly suffered a "thigh strain" during Sunday's loss to the Cleveland Browns, but apparently the injury must be more severe than most first thought.
Gostkowski was reportedly placed on injured reserve on Wednesday, which ends his season.
The veteran kicker's final kick came on an extra point following New England's first touchdown, and after that he didn't return. Belichick didn't offer up much after the game, saying only, "His leg tightened up during the game, obviously he wasn't able to finish and kick, so we'll have to see."
Apparently they've seen the severity of the injury, and now he's done for the season.
In the meantime the team added former Ravens kicker Shayne Graham, who is a 10-year veteran. Graham played with the Cincinnati Bengals, from 2003-09, with a career average of 85.2 percent.
