Laurence Maroney gave everyone a scare after fumbling on the Patriots opening possession of the second half, but he chased down Sedrick Ellis and stripped it away, allowing his team to recover it.
New England then drove from their own 19 yard line, and a key 47 yard pass from Brady to Randy Moss helped set up a 2-yard run by Maroney to cut the lead to 7 with just over 10 1/2 minutes left in the 3rd quarter.
