The Boston Herald reported on Monday that Patriots nose tackle Vince Wilfork has been diagnosed with a sprained left ankle.
Wilfork left Sunday's game with the injury and went to the locker room with just over 4:00 left in the half, and did walk off the field under his own power. Today in the locker room, teammate Mike Wright told Ian Rappaport of the Herald that he thought he accidentally stepped on Wilfork's ankle.
A source with knowledge of Wilfork's injury reportedly told the newspaper that the injury is "not expected to be long-term."
After leaving the game, rookie Myron Pryor stepped in for Wilfork and played fairly well, making three tackles during the Patriots 26-10 win over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.
