The Associated Press reported on Tuesday that New England Patriots safety Rodney Harrison is expected to announce this week whether he is planning on making a return to football, or if he'll be retiring from the NFL.Harrison suffered a torn quad muscle in his right thigh during the 2008 campaign which ended his season.

Harrison's contract expired after the 2008 season, and according to published reports the defensive captain hasn't attended any of the team's organized activities during the offseason.  There is talk about Harrison moving on to a career in television, which the safety has already done after he worked for the NFL Network and for NBC during its Super Bowl coverage.

He has reportedly told the Boston Herald he would make an announcement Wednesday.
