The Patriots announced that cornerback Jonathan Wilhite has been placed on injured reserve with a hip/hamstring injury.
Wilhite, a three year NFL veteran, has missed the last four games with the injury. Darius Butler replaced Wilhite in his role as slot cornerback during that time.
After the roster move, the Patriots' cornerback depth chart now has Devin McCourty, Kyle Arrington, Darius Butler and newly acquired Chevis Jackson.
Veteran defensive lineman Louis Leonard, has signed with the team to replace Wilhite on the active roster. The Pats have struggled to stay healthy along the defensive line front. This move will surely help provide depth along the defensive line. Mike Wright (concussion), Myron Pryor (back), and Ron Brace (head), Gerard Warren (knee) are all banged up.
