WEEI.com: Burgess, Walter Happy To Escape Oakland

A couple thoughts...

First, I think it's funny that as much as Al Davis rants and raves about New England, he has no trouble trading away some of his best players to the Patriots. (Okay, Doug Gabriel doesn't count. ;) )

Second, why wouldn't they be happy to get out of Oakland? The Faders could have "Spygate" videos of every team they play, the playbooks of all the other teams, even access to the radio communication between the sidelines and the players, and they'd STILL be lucky to go 5-11.

SMY: New QB Walter has ‘tons of work’ to do

More on Walter; sounds like he's got a long ways to go before he is in a position to pass KOC as the #2 QB.

New QB Walter has ‘tons of work’ to do by Shalise Manza Young of the Providence Journal

“I’m pretty much the one asking questions,” Walter said. “He’s been around here, so he knows the system. For me, whenever I get a chance to go in there, it’s to learn something and get a completion and basically put the team in a position to succeed. That’s my job right now. It’s really not a matter of competing against Kevin or Brian [Hoyer] or anyone else.”

There is no question that Walter wants to win the job as Brady’s backup, but with only a week in New England’s system, he knows he has a long way to go.
“At this point I feel like it’s time to keep learning,” Walter said. “There’s just a lot of learning left to do.”
