I have heard many different reasons why various people have earned game balls over the years, but this is a first.

Wes Welker Claims Larry Izzo Once Earned Game Ball for Pooping on Sideline During Patriots Game (Video) - New England Patriots - NESN.com

Professional football players usually earn game balls for spectacular plays. One time, Larry Izzo earned one from Bill Belichick by taking a poop on the sideline without anybody noticing.

"I guarantee that game ball is probably a more prized item for him than his Super Bowl rings," Wes Welker told ESPN's Dan LeBatard on a recent episode of Dan LeBatard Is Highly Questionable.

"It's Izzo, it's what the guy does!" Welker declares. "I'm telling you, the guy is phenomenal."

This is the kind of thing that would appeal to my Katherine who's in first grade learning about bunny poop and elephant poop from her naturalist teacher.

Does Wes' GF know what she's in for?

If she has 2nd thoughts, she can PM me...

Lots of things come to mind after watching this one...

First off, I was literally laughing out loud, can't say that too often. (Well, at least since the beginning of February)

I also think it continues to point to a 'different' kind of Bill Belichick than most of the world knows, which isn't anything that unusual for us fans, but proves what a character Belichick is too, not just Izzo or Welker.

I was intrigued by the example that #83 used when describing "who's right" when he and Brady don't hook up. More importantly, it shows a glimpse into the complexity of running the route tree routes here in N.England....They BOTH think they're right at times, based on what they see. Once again, I think many "ignorant" or not as knowedgable fans tend to overlook the complexity of our passing game system. Needless to say, Brady and Wes both have doctorates in this system.

And finally, SIGN THE MF BEAST.....

BB should have given a gameball if Izzo dropped a deuce on the other team's sideline.

That's so funny that you mention that, b/c I thought the exact same thing when he said it.

It's probably somewhat easier for them, with the huge amounts of money and supermodels, etc.

I have to go back to my sh!t life for another off-season of intense pain

If so, one shudders imagining the subsequent memo from Roger Goodell

It is amazing that the hanging judge missed this one, since I assume that this happened in 2007 or 2008, when Izzo and Wes were teammates, and Goodell was indeed commish.

These days Izzo would be out 8 games, and 16 if he didn't use toilet paper, properly compost, and follow up with hand sanitizer.
