The simplistic knee-jerk view of Corey Dillon...

I don't but all the excuses. Pass didn't struggle as bad behind the line, neither did Faulk.

But remember, Faulk gets all the draw plays against pass defenses.

We don't need (or really want) Dillon to rush for 1600 yards. That's not what the Pats running game is all about. We need him to pick up 3rd and shorts, score from inside the five, etc.

Where was that burst in weeks 1, 2, and 3? Nowhere to be seen, and that's before he got hurt. Do you REALLY think he can possibly return to the 04 form? Take off the glasses and see the sun my friend. Dillon is not all the way done, but his days as being a horse are.

you see what you want to see...Corey Dillon scored 4 TD's on the ground in the first three games....you would have everyone think this is bad because he didn't rush for 100 plus yards...because you are obviously a little thumb saucking goo gee gaa gaa "fantasy!!!!!!" moron who thinks any player that doesn't give you points for your "I rule the world!!!!" idiotic fantasy league is somehow "not good anymore.we need somebody to rack up big yards so I can brag about how important I am in a freakin' FANTASY WORLD!!!!~!"

Really, why be a Pats fan...just switch to the Colts and join the thumb sauckers in blue...there's millions of 'em just like you

sorry, have to agree with bionic, in the frist three games corey scored four time but he averaged 2.7 ypc, 2.6 ypc, and 2.8 ypc. this obviously hindered brady, he threw two td's against oaklands weak pass defense, but then collapsed against carolina and pittsburgh when he threw one td, and had two interceptions

Joker needs a warm bottle and a small dog to cuddle with; please don't say things to make him disagree or he might call you names or say you're inferior. We've tried everything to help him; but a hospital, a team of specialists, and 200 nurses can only do so much.

Maybe we see what we want to see, i don't know. I saw a lack of holes.
He was dinged up, but it seemed like he had nowhere to go a lot of the time.

So I'm thinking, YES, by all means, draft his heir apparent. Maybe even select a LenDale or a DeAngelo in round one of this draft. But for the love of God, can the simpletons PLEASE stop piling on. It seems to be coming from the same foot-stamping, breath-holding "why won't the Patriots sign anyone yet?!" crowd, and those of us with a bit more perspective are getting kind of sick of it.

Relax. They're gonna draft a running back. But Corey is not necessarily as "done" as you think he is. Now. Allow me to step down off my soap box. Good evening.

I couldn't agree woth you more, Patsox23, I was 100% for the Dillon acquisition 2 years ago and he's certainly given the Patriots and us fans a solid effort. He'll have a good 2006 season and the Patriots will look for an Addai or Dontrelle Moore in the draft to groom for a starting role. Nice post, patsox :rocker:

Where's Maurice Drew expected to be at?

If Dillon was fighting injuries, why did BB run him 26 times against the Jets in a meaningless game late in the year? Either Dillon wasn't as hurt as we think or BB is a dumb coach because you don't run a back who is hurt that many times when you could rest him for the playoffs. Like I said, either Dillon wasn't really hurt or BB is stupid. Take your pick. I side with Belichick.

Dillon was getting healthy and needed the reps as a playoff tuneup in that Jets game. Also, being a monday night game BB was showing a vanilla offense to potential playoff opponents.

Dillon was contained by a tough Jags D in the 1st playoff game but had a good showing in Denver(13 carries for 57 yards, 4.4 ypc) and if the game wasn't a turnover fest Dillon would of been the key to victory.

Tshirt, I don't know but I'm gonna check him out and get back to ya on it. Off the top of my head I'm thinking 5-6th round. Lemme investigate it. :rocker:

I stand corrected Tshirt, Maurice Drew is pojected as a middle 3rd to low 4th right now. That being the case. Let's take Addai, Drew or Moore.... :rocker:
