    The problem with the Lance Briggs scenario is that the Bears have enough cap space to franchise tag him - enough to place the exclusive franchise tag for him.

    And for lots of other teams too. It doesn't matter how much we have, with all that cap space many teams will outbid us for almost anyone.

    I don't expect Briggs, but it's good BB will have the money if he decides to get active in free agency for less expensive players that could be in a position to come in and assume starting roles. Players that could make an impact like Harrison and Colvin after 2002.

    Not carrion like Duane Starks or Eric Warfield.
