Tek... 167 avg in June.....

We now have a nomination for one of the incompetant sports lines for 2009.
"if we had someone else behind the plate maybe we would have won 3".

Thus, the Red Sox organization should be scorned for giving Vek the "C", only Rice and Yaz have worn the C since 1923.

"if we had someone else behind the plate maybe we would have won 3".

The "C" was for Choker in the 2008 ALCS.

We lost the series 4 games to 3.
Varitek 050 batting average killed us. He left runners in scoring position
time after time. He also allowed two critical passed balls that helped
cost us a game.

There is no doubt that Varitek is one of the main reasons we lost to
the Devil Rays last year.

The injuries to Beckett & Lowell also hurt.
Kotsay did nothing as a fill in for Lowell, but he does
not have a "C" on his chest. He was a bench player
who did not deliver.

You may also consider that the man who gaive Tek the C is the same
guy who ........

Tried to sign Jose Contreras
Gave JD Drew a 5 year - 70 million dollar contract.
Gave Julio Lugo a 4 year - 36 million dollar contract.
Paid 50+ million to talk to Dice-K & another 50+ million to sign him.

On the other hand... the same guy was smart enough to
offer Tek arbitration knowing that he would turn it down.
He also knew that nobody would sign Tek as a Class A
free agent and he would get the fool for half of what
he offered him in arbitration.

I totally support Theo's commitment to the farm system.
Let's also not forget that the success of our farm system has something
to do with the fact the Red Sox spend more on scouting than any other
team in the Majors - Including the Yankees..

I do like Theo, but his track record suggests that he has made a few
bad decisions in the past.

I also am not afraid to admit that Theo's success is based on the
Sox deep pockets.

I think Theo would struggle as GM of the Kansas City Royals.

Hey Captain....Did you get away from the white coats with the net?

I am tired of being stalked by Crocodile Dumb-Dee !

I actually missed my primary American stalker !

Glad to see you are alive and well !

Kangaroo or Crocodile.... which is it?

Listen joe, I see your point, however you're only pulling up the so called negligible deals relating to the Sox and you're admirably side stepping the very good. That's not a balanced argument.

Now Tek, sure I was disappointed with his form last season, but you make it seem like he was the sole reason the team didn't go to the world series and win it. That's simply not true. You're looking for a scape goat to justify your team's failure, which is human nature unfortunately.

There were heaps of key moments that revolved around the entire Sox team and the Rays. Singling out one particular person is unjust. 8-12 other guys could have done something about it any given day.

Thank you for making a legit post !
A legit post will receive a legit response.

My problem with Varitek is all about his situational hitting.

Put a man on third base with less than two outs in a one run game.
After 40 years of watching baseball, I can honestly say the last player
I would like at the plate in that situation is Jason Varitek.

All that is needed to score the run is a fly ball to the outfield or a ground ball to the right side of the infield. Varitek will swing at a fastball out of the strikezone/high and pop it up. If he does not get the high fastball, he will strikeout at a breaking ball in the dirt.

I still remember Varitek in the 2003 ALCS against the Yankees
Twice he failed to score a key runner from 3b with less than 2 outs. If either of those runners scored we would have won a key game that we lost.
We lost that series 4-3.

It is all about the situational hitting.... Varitek is the worst I have seen
in 40 years.

For a guy who is called a smart player, he is as dumb as they come with
a bat in his hand.

LMAO.
Thus, not only is Tek one of the biggest disapointments of the Sox during their domination, but, the person in charge (Theo) is also a loser.
Keep them coming, always need a good laugh with my coffee.

Hey Cub Scout

When did I say Theo was a loser?

All I did was point out quite a few bad decisions.
I am sorry.... I forgot the mention the Matt Clement signing.

Do you think the signing of Drew, Renteria, Lugo, Clement, & Dice-K were smart business decisions?

He did sign Ortiz, but his primary goal was to sign Jeremy Giambi.
Ortiz was an afterthought.

I applaud his success, but his success has a lot to do with the Sox's
payroll.

Ben Cherington & Jed Hoyer deserve a great deal of credit for making
the Beckett/Lowell for Hanley Ramriez trade. We would love to have
Hanley today, but we would not have won in 2007 without Lowell and
Beckett.

I love Theo's commitment to the farm system, but we spend more on scouting than any other team in baseball. Theo is not out scouting the high school kids that we draft and don't draft. He may check in on a special prospect after he has received feedback, but he is not out scouting.

Cub Scout, I would love to hear something from you in a constructive manner.

Show me that great baseball knowledge.......

Enlighten me with great facts... like Tek has a C on his shirt.....

Let's see what you got........
:pigsfly:

I just have a feeliing that you bring nothing to the table, except a big
puffy #1 finger.

Hey Captain stalker.....
How you doing??????

Are you buddies with the Cub Scout????

I just had to peek at your Patsfan resume Captain.....
You have started 3 threads in 2009.....

You are here every day & you have only started 3 threads????
Well I assume those three theads are brilliant.....

Here are your highlights.....

1-12-2009 - Sox Sign Kotsay
there is your rocco baldelli insurance. nice pick up by the sox. kotsay can play of and fb. when drew goes down the sox have someone who can play two or three days in a row.

Kotsay can play outfield and full back????
I believe first base is 1b or position number 3.

1-22-2009 - Brian Scalabrine
scal deserves a lot of credit. hes played great for the celtics filling in for perk while he was out. i say well done.

Let's all give Scal & the Captain a golf clap... Well done boys.

5-3-2009 - Where is the Remdog
does anybody know whats going on with Jerry Remy? hes been gone from the games for some reason.

Didn't you know... Remy retired from baseball in 1984.

That is your entire resume of 2009.......
Did you go to college or were you home schooled????
?

Any idea when you will be making your next post????
I am sitting on the edge of my seat waiting with
eager anticipation.

You know, when you put all of those together, that is pretty brutal, I have to be honest.

Tonight on one of the sports shows I watched someone said when Lowrie comes back, they will probably just let Lugo walk and eat the rest of his contract.

But hey, it ain't my money or Theo's, so whatever.

100 million clams for a guy who is totally lost out there at the moment, about to be replaced by a guy who they are paying what, 5, 6 million to coming off of surgery?

To be serious, how many starts does Smoltz get before Clay gets the call up?

100 million dollars for Dice K "Luke Laloosh/Wild Thing" Matsuzaka.

And I am fully aware he won 33 games in his first two seasons with the Red Sox, but Lordly, that is a raftload of cake, you gotta be honest.

The only thing that particularly annoys me when Tek is at the plate is his penchant for swinging at everything. He wants to create the play rather than letting his at bat evolve.

In all honesty, his catching ability is why he is crucial to the team. His ability to call a good game is second to none. I'd rather Tek than Kottaras at this point in time.

The point is.... you have zero to offer this board.
Your three posts are the definition of Irrelevant.
Trust me.... there is nobody following your posts.

Any fool can swoop in and insult someone.
I have yet to see you post any infomation to challenge any of my
statements.

The prozac line is old...:deadhorse: and you stole it from someone.
You don't have an original thought in your head.

Any posts you do make are truly the tumble weeds of the Patsfans message board.

Am I wrong?????

Prove it.....

Make a post on any subject.....
:pigsfly:
