dr. pain. I appreciate your work in this area.

Re: Sticky Please: "Smoking gun" photo discredited [Update: Jets camerman?]

Greetings,

I just dropped this off the below letter, email copy and photos at channel 5. I hope they answer and explain this to me. I will pass on anything I hear.

Greetings,

The cameraman in the attached photos has been identified by a staff member at Channel 5 as a Jets employee in the attached email. This Jets employee was video taping from the sidelines of the game last Sunday. This is the very violation the Patriots were correctly punished for. This cameraman can be seen on the replay of the game, shooting the Patriots sideline while the Patriots defense was out. He shot other things or walked around while the Patriots offense was out.

If he is in fact a Jets employee the Jets have broken the same rule the Patriots did and this is incontrovertible proof. Stealing signals is not prohibited but teams taping from the sideline is. This is the offense the Patriots technically committed.

Please pursue this story.

Thank you,

Why is the media not reporting this?? Not even PFT is willing to put this up in the rumor mill. WTF?? Maybe Bill Simmons would put something up. Then again, given how cozy ESPN is with the NFL, that may be wishful thinking.

How tough would it be to say, oh he is from channel 15 or the like. The fact that we have put in hundreeds or requests and not heard back except for the one guy wfrom channel 5 who said they knew him and he is a Jets employee without understanding the ramifications.

Thanks for continuing the good fight with me Dr. Pain. I'm starting to feel like this is way too close to being swept under the rug because it kinda negates the last week of media hysteria. But I think a group of fans rising in defense of their team with proof that the other team is guilty of the same crime is a pretty good story. I will be pretty disheartened with the media (if that's even possible) if no one is willing to at least try and help us get the answer to the question.. WHO IS THE GUY WITH THE CAMERA????

Re: Sticky Please: "Smoking gun" photo discredited [Update: Jets camerman?]

Everyone please email me all the pictures you have at [email protected]

I am compiling them all. Please add times if you have them such as at 4:25 in the 3rd etc…

I will share them all with anyone who wants them

Thanks Pain

If it helps I have the whole game recorded also, but from my PC in 720p HD. I can convert the file to a DVD or whatever format if needed but obviously it's going to be a large file. I can probably take some screen captures of particular parts if needed.

We can't break copyright, just fairuse photos. Hopefully of him shooting across the field while the Patriots D is in the game.

This is great news.

Keep us posted............... we deserve an answer.

Re: Sticky Please: "Smoking gun" photo discredited [Update: Jets camerman?]

Can anyone get a screen grab of the guy operating the boom mike next to our mystery videographer? I think there's a chance he could be Ryan Mahanes, Jet Employee in the Video Department. If it is Mahanes there's an even better chance that the guy shooting the film is Tim Tubito, another Jet Employee in the Video Department.

Here's his myspace page. Be careful. He likes really bad music.

NFL's copyright on images of the game is overbroad and violates fair use. There was a story a few weeks ago that it was now being challenged preemptively in court.

http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/pos...studios-for-overstating-copyright-claims.html

The CCIA's complaint fingers the NFL, Major League Baseball, NBC Universal, Morgan Creek, DreamWorks, Harcourt Inc., and Penguin Group (USA) for deceptive trade practices, accusing them of systematically mispresenting the rights of consumers to use copyrighted material. "These warnings that we have been seeing for decades are false," CCIA spokesperson Jake Ward told Ars Technica in a Monday interview. "They are a misrepresentation of the law and a violation of consumers' rights."

Understand I'm not a lawyer but as long as rsd doesn't charge for his services, he's probably in the clear.

Actually scratch this. Upon further review I don't think either one of the guys is Mahanes or Tubito.

keep up the pressure and keep posting here. This site is just meant as a single point where someone can see a quick request for identification since we have questions if the media is willing to take the time to go through the forum and digest this instead of just saying, oh they must be talking about the Patriots video guy.

Give me suggestions or new photos

Hello all,

I created this

http://www.nflcoverup.com

keep up the pressure and keep posting here. Cool, but the name just might piss off the league, specially if it turns out to be nothing.

Still, it's a fair question and deserves an answer. I'd fix the typos (even I saw a few, and I'm the typo king). You might want to add a few direct referenses to times the guy can clearly be seen filming our sideline on the network feed if you can.

ex. 3 QT, 5:12 - standing at the 24 filming accross field (I made these up, I don't have the game tivo'd anymore)

might want to add this image too, it shows him filming the D. theres a few better ones

Re: Sticky Please: "Smoking gun" photo discredited [Update: Jets camerman?]

I was referring to the cover up over authorized cameras. If this does turn out to be nothing, as it may well, I will bring it right down.

Re: Sticky Please: "Smoking gun" photo discredited [Update: Jets camerman?]

Maybe I missed something, but didn't a kffl Pats poster sort of debunk the idea it's a Jets employee, but 'probably' local network or other authorized person?

Re: Sticky Please: "Smoking gun" photo discredited [Update: Jets camerman?]

I'm starting to circulate this in the fallowing form:

In these photos he's seen working the Jets vs Vikings preseason game:

http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x205/harem148/vlcsnap-13802367.png

(notice in the fallowing photo he's filming across the field toward the Vikings sideline while the Vikings are on defense)

http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x205/harem148/vlcsnap-13770528.png

Here he is filming toward the Patriots sideline while the Patriots are on defense:

http://www.geocities.com/nh_wynter/JetsCam1.jpg

http://www.geocities.com/nh_wynter/JetsCam2.jpg

When the Patriots weren't on defense he filmed other things or didn't film at all:

http://www.patsfans.com/new-england-patriots/messageboard/attachment.php?attachmentid=856

http://www.patsfans.com/new-england-patriots/messageboard/attachment.php?attachmentid=854

A reporter in email correspondence has identified this Cameraman as a Jets employee:

http://patsfans.com/new-england-patriots/messageboard/showpost.php?p=520810&postcount=38

http://patsfans.com/new-england-patriots/messageboard/showpost.php?p=521027&postcount=40

This cameraman is wearing the same "Jets" shirt Eric Mangini sometimes wears and is not wearing the league required vest. The league rule now is that you may not have a team employee filming from the sidelines especially across the field which this JETS cameraman was doing in both the NE game and the Vikings preseason game.

For those who still do not get this, the Jets are guilty of breaking the same rule the Patriots broke. Stealing defensive signs was not the illegal part, having the cameraman on the Sidelines filming especially across the field IS. These photos and the game broadcast of these games have visual proof of this cameraman breaking that rule.

Here is the memo sent out to all 32 teams by the league on September 6th, 2006:

"Videotaping of any type, including but not limited to taping of an opponent's offensive or defensive signals, is prohibited on the sidelines, in the coaches' booth, in the locker room, or at any other locations accessible to club staff members during the game."

As you can see by all the above photos this JETS EMPLOYEE is breaking the rules as described in that memo.

This has been sent to a bunch of members of the media via email. The problem we are having is it seems none of them want to go after this story, and seem almost like they just want this to end.....or is it that they just want the Patriots to be scrutinized?
