Wow - that's sad.

I saw him pitch for the Pawsox vs. Dave Righetti years back in what I think was a rehab start, long after his best days - but still nice to see him

Just heard about that...so so sad...he lived near relatives..so I got to meet him before he became big..Was just a really odd guy who loved baseball..and was so unique a personality. 54..way too early. From wht I heard he apparently was working on his car when something happened...WIll always remember The Bird!!!

i grew up with fidrych in northboro and he was my bud. we pitched against each other in little league and babe ruth. finally in high school we pitched for the same team. i moved to ca. and one day i woke up and turned on the tv and he was pitching for the tigers. i couldn't beleive that one of my boys from northboro little league had made it. i can answer questions but it's a sad day.

Yes, it's sad. But this thread belongs in the baseball forum.

Bruce Snyder also died.

Just saw him and one of his trucks working on a house in Shrewsbury recently.

Very sad. :(

A career cut short too soon, and now his life cut short way too soon.

Rest In Peace Mark.

Condolences to his friends and family.

Yes. So sad. He was one of the "characters" who helped give the game its "character." RIP to an "original."
