Rich Hill: Eleven Teams, Five Owners, Four Coaches, Two Executives support Roger Goodell's Penalties

I just heard a clip from Michael Silver on WEEI and said he spoke to two owners who thought the punishment was excessive.

Here is the problem. Like with the Ray Rice situation, the owners and League circle the wagons around Goodell and publicly support his actions even if privately they think he screwed up again.

I'm a big Pats homer most of the time, but frankly, this article is garbage...poorly written with a main source, likely, of a google search...really?????

the cards that Kraft has to play can only be played once. Since his side of the issue has been gathering strength on it's own, why say anything beyond what he has already said? lobbing verbal grenades doesn't work around a bunch of billionaires

I struggle to recall at time when in the end, an innocent team was successfully punished.

new holes get poked into the situation every day

.....So why does Kraft not want to sue the NFL? Why is he even back-channeling with the NFL?

According to Rich Hill, several teams, coaches, owners, and executives have all have come out in support of Roger Goodell - essentially throwing Kraft underneath the bus.

Kraft is supposedly one of the wealthiest and most respected owners in the League. Yet it is clear that most of the NFL does not want his team to thrive and are doing everything in their power to undercut the legacy of the Patriots.

Look, I admire Bob Kraft, but I don't understand why he's in negotiation talks at a time like this. There's absolutely nothing to be gained with these people.

Mr. Kraft. Let me make something clear to you: The NFL has abandoned you. Your colleagues have abandoned you. And your friends are more than fine with allowing your team to suffer.

Whether you like it or not, you are no longer part of the establishment you've worked to build. So I beg you Sir, take this battle to court, and forget about your so-called "friends." Your number 1 priority should be with your fans and the team, who are counting on you to make the right decision!

Spot on.

Who is Rich Hill and what article are you referring to??

Before everyone jumps into this pool, do you think that Mr. Kraft will forevermore want to be linked to Al Davis and Donald Sterling, the two previous folks who sued their leagues?? That is bottomfeeding company...
Actually, Al Davis did quite well going against the league. Look back at his history. Donald Sterling doesn't even belong in sentence. I would assume Craft is one of the most powerful owners in the league. Seems you gain power being champions, and the Patriots have dominated for over a decade and are the reining champs.

Of course it proves his judgement of character. He didn't just NOT "publicly make statements bashing an active commissioner" he very publicly made statements supporting the commissioner when he had no obligation to do so. His support may very well have saved the job of Goodell. He either misjudged Goodell's character or he was happy to support a mental midget tyrant to make decisions for a billion dollar enterprise. Another words, he's either a poor judge of character or a moron. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt that he's not a moron.

Lol, if Kraft is a moron then what the hell does that make all of us... the guy is a successful, wealthy businessman that built his empire from the ground up and has been a key influence in the growth of the NFL.

If he's a moron, we're basically bacteria in comparison

My post said he is not a moron.

Something struck me this morning. Maybe we're misinterpreting the theme of the article. Afterall it on a Pats-centric website.

We're taking it as the author saying "All these football people are publicly against us, we're doomed!" When if you look at it a different way the author may be saying "Only these football people have publicly come out against us, chill!"

Although some here have made the excellent point that it doesn't really matter what everyone says in public. Behind closed doors at the owner's meeting is where their real opinions come out, and that's where s**t gets real.
