REPORT CARD: Patriots Win with Mediocre Performance
By: Derek Havens

The New England Patriots defeated the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday afternoon 31 ? 24. While the team did get the victory, this team still has work to do in the last month of the regular season. Here is my report card for week 13. ...

That was a more painful read than the 4th quarter was to watch... Teach me to click...

It wasn't a mediocre performance. It was a dominant thrashing marred by a loss of focus letdown in the 4th quarter on both sides of the ball when it was at that point nothing more than annoying. They did make stops when it counted, Derek... And there was nothing special about the ST play yesterday probably because most of them were too busy playing defense...and offense.

I wish Ian could field a roster roster of even marginal starting caliber scribes as opposed to a hodgepodge of street FA and UDFA fananalysts... But then that would be as unrealistic an expectation as expecting the level of performance of a banged up, patchwork defense experimenting with a bunch of ST'ers to be anything more than good enough to win one.

The only reason the Dolts closed the gap is that Bill decided to f around with various players to see if they could play defense.

To the author

I can understand wanting stops, "when it counts".

Considering, Indy scored 21 points AFTER the Patriots scored 31; what is your definition of "when it counts"?

They got to work the onside kick "hands' unit twice. that's not something you get to do all the time.
