2006 585000.00
2007 1000000.00

I wonder what the signing bonus was. The salaries are . . . almost nothing.

Yeah, it's on the NFLPA site now. The signing bonus would be in addition to these numbers.

I am sure that the contract is filled with incentives in which case he would make more than just that. It would be interesting to know what those incentives are though and for how much.

I'm going to call him "Donnie" from now on, trying to pronounce Reche is too hard. LOL

As are his career numbers. Nothing for nothing. Sounds like a fair deal to me.

Better than the Josh Reed deal, 4 years 10 million.

Randel El had 35 catches, a TD and 2 fumbles. And look at the contract he got. Many have said that he is a poor man's #2 and a really good #3. Caldwell is probably a tick under Randel El.

BB sure sticks to his guns. That contract just adds depth and really doesn't restrict any more signings (or extensions :) )

Wow, we got Caldwell for nothing.

Copying and pasting from Dan Pires, a good source :

"Zero. Zip. Zilch. Nada.

That's what Donald Reché 'Not To Be Confused With Rich' Caldwell got for a signing bonus.

His only significant incentive is a $300K roster bonus which is due sometime this year/season - as in down the road."

I guess you can say two things :

- He must like the chance to be a Patriot.
- He must not have had much interest around the league.

I guess that's why it's only a two year deal, he'll still only be 28 and can still get a big contract if he proves himself.

And that's the Patriot way.

Another jab to the naysayers!

I would feel bad for the guy but that $1.5M for two years is still more than I'll make in my lifetime.

:bricks:

Here's the numbers from Reiss :

"Receiver Reche Caldwell -- Inked a two-year deal for slightly more than $2 million. Base salaries of $585,000 in 2006 and $1 million in 2007. There was no signing bonus, a $300,000 roster bonus in 2006 (due date unknown), a $20,000 workout bonus in 2006, and a $100,000 workout bonus in 2007."

Basically $1M per year for two years. And 100% cuttable, if it comes to that, with no signing bonus.
