NE 27-10
Back on the winning track. I didn't post a "Oswlek thoughts thread" this week, but while I was wildly disappointed in the outcome of the NE/Indy game, I think people are reading too much into that game.
Indy deserved to win and played a great game, probably the most complete game they have played in the recent era. But what I don't see many people realizing is that NE had 5 TOs (three of which were unforced), a ridiculous amount of "automatic first-down" type penalties after a third down stop (a few of which were crap), terrible special teams coverage and an odd game plan that seemed to play into the only asset Indy has on defense; speed.
Despite all of this and the fact that Seymour was clearly held (and I don't mean the "it happens every game" type holds, I'm talking "the LT is beaten so he grabs the #93 on Big Sey's back with two hands and holds on" holds) on multiple plays, NE was within a TD at the end.
Again, I wasn't happy, but I would be willing to put $100 on it right now that NE would win the matchup regardless where it is played. This was a classic "Pitt in 2004" game.
OK, I think I finally met my quota for "sayings with quotes around them."
