"When McDaniels and Caserio were tasked with scouting New England's opposing receivers and corners, they took it further, creating a formula for size, speed, ball skills, scheme and assignments. Then they developed a ranking system based on the Patriots' personnel and playbook. Impressed, Belichick ditched his manual for scouting receivers and corners, replacing it with what he'd learned."

I sometimes wonder what a guy like Dobson would be like today if given another chance. Sometimes guys develop much later in life. I bet Crable has meat on his legs after all this time lol.

If a team goes out in the woods and drafts no wide receivers and no one is around to compare their production does it make a sound?

Where do the Patriots rank in low cost veteran WR acquisitions this decade for receiver stats?

More importantly, where do the Pats rank in Super Bowls, conference championships, playoff record and overall record over the decade?

Nice. Unfortunately there are 31 teams to compare and the picture isn't pretty. Bill should have some self awareness at this point and flat out toss the WR evals from McDaniels straight to the trash can for the 2021 draft. Don't even think of using a pick on a WR before round3.

.

Drafting WR's has been piss poor by the Pats, but the graphic about draft picks is a lot disingenuous, consider:

Braxton Berrios 6th round
Devin Lucien 7th round
Jeremy Ebert 7th round

We need a new GM for the Pats that assists BB in drafting players if BB stays here....BB can’t be in charge of drafting players especially WR and TE because that’s never been his strong suit....drafting in general if you look at all the players and outcomes over the years....is not his strong suit...

Well he didn’t learn much ....looking at his draft record on WR (in post below) will make you vomit

Why don’t they make graphics like this about how the Saints haven’t drafted a good QB in 50 years?

Because they haven't won a crazy amount of games and Super Bowls the last 20 years.

And pretty much everyone knows the Saint sucked for a long time.

Price #90
Ebert #235
Dobson #59
Boyce #102
Gallon #244
Mitchell #112
Lucien #225
Berrios #210
Harry #32

So 9 picks in 11 years.

Of those 9 picks 4 were picked after #200, lets face it, a player drafted after 200 6th or 7th round isn't expected to make it.
Next we have 2 of the 9 players drafted after #100 4th round picks and up are a complete crap shoot, but it is fair to criticize bad picks.
So that leaves us with Price drafted at the end of the third round, Dobson at the end of the second round, and Harry drafted last in the first round.
I would argue that basically the Patriots have drafted 5 wr's with any realistic chance of making it in 11 years. Anyone criticizing 6th and 7th round picks is being foolish.

Price 3rd round
Dobson 2nd round
Boyce 4th round
Mitchell 4th round
Harry last pick 1st round

So in 11 years the Patriots have spent two 4ths, one 3rd, one 2nd, and one 1st on wide receivers. The 1st is still on the team. Mitchell was instrumental in a Super Bowl win, then was hurt so 3 blown wide receiver picks in 11 years, to go with 3 super bowl wins.

No we are as good as the Steelers. That guy who constantly posts about it will tell you...

If an owner shells out significant coin to non-functioning employees and his Asian masseuse complains about her tip, does the Bentley driver use GPS to get back to the Breakers for sunset co_cktails?

Edit:
Why does Ian flag the word '****tails' ?
Is it the Puritan in him?
:)
