And as expected, from Peter King's "Fine Fifteen":

"
1. Green Bay (15-1). Doubt it will matter, but sitting Aaron Rodgers Sunday means 20 days between Rodgers playing in a game ... between the Dec. 25 game versus Chicago and the Jan. 15 divisional tilt.

4. New England (13-3). Not to rain on the Pats' top-seeded parade or anything, but foes threw for 4,703 yards on New England this year. That's so bad it's almost scandalous -- 1,348 more yards in the air than the Patriots allowed in 2009.

Ahem.

Pardon me for calling out the Patriots' bad secondary in MMQB without noting the Packers gave up more yards. Dumb me.

He was corrected.

We're number (thirty) one!, we're number (thirty) one!

anyone else think Mazz just sounds rediculous whining about the pats defense and saying that theres no way you can compare them to the packers defense every night??

for someone who wants to bring up stats to say the pats have no chance, the packers team is essentially the same as the patriots...their defense relies on turnovers and they put alot of points on the board.

A look at some stats
5 of the favored top seeded teams 2011 in order by yards allowed.

..............offense......defense
..............pts..yds....pts....yds
Steelers....21...12......1.......1
49ers.......11....26.....2.......4
Saints.......2.....1......13.....24
Patriots.....3.....2......15.....31
Packers.....1.....3......19.....32

Here's a look at SB winners and losers in order by year ranked points and yardage offense/defense. I put a box around some of the more lopsided teams, interesting to note the increase in lopsided teams(winners & losers) in the past 10-12 years.
