Sorry if this has been brought up previously but this site has some pretty interesting stats, and with a pretty strange graph at the end.

Are these stats genuine, and if so can Belichick's emphasis on ball security explain this much of a difference? I don't want to believe it so I'm hoping someone can set this straight.
1) 2013 is weird, huh?

2) Yes, it was the balls. It has nothing to do with a pass first offense that uses short passes in lieu of runs where "fumbles" are incomplete passes. It also has nothing to do with a coaching staff that calls plays to minimize the possibility of fumbles. It also has nothing to do with a culture where if Ridley fumbles in week 4 he is a healthy scratch in week 5 before he gets 3 carries in week 6. Yes, it was the balls. /sarcasm
