Commence the irrelevant trends and streaks that delve into the past 30 years. This will be a long week.

There is no guiding hand that will lead the Patriots to a magical victory. They need to figure out how to pressure Flacco and take advantage of personnel in the Ravens defense, which will be tough to do considering they don't have a lot of physical talent on offense. If they can do these things, they'll win. If not, they'll lose.

Doesn't mean anything
They were undefeated at home in the playoffs under BB / Brady until they lost to Baltimore
They were 3-0 in superbowls under BB / Brady until they lost twice in a row

I still like their odds, but past record means nothing -- especially since recent record hasn't been as stellar.

Umm, I disagree. The Pats have an incredible arsenal of physical talent on offense.

RBs: Ridley, Vereen, Woodhead (if not hurt), Bolden
WRs: Welker, Lloyd
TEs: Hernandez
QB: #12 TFB

Ravens have a veteran and experience defense who will make you pay for mistakes. But they are also old and gave up a LOT of points to the Broncos. I think Brady is just as capable of putting up 30+ on the Ravens as PM. And I think that the Pats OL has performed very well in the playoffs so far. If they perform up to standards again, I can see the Pats winning by double digit margins.

Ravens on offense have Ray Rice and Torrey Smith. The Pats have shown they know how to contain threats like that. They contained Arian Foster and Andre Johnson pretty well. Force Flacco to beat us with his arm and to a target other than Torrey Smith and the Ravens limited arsenal will work against them.

30?

Not quite. 1996 is the first home championship game.

No disrespect but Manning was 10-0 and the colts were 9-0 against the Ravens coming into the playoffs. Those mean nothing now.

This will be an exciting and great game. Here is to that! (and some fun chatting the next week!)

In sports, streaks that have recent additions matter until they're broken. Someone saying "We've beaten you 10 straight times" when the last meeting was 30 years ago is an idiot. Someone saying "We've beaten you 10 straight times" when the last meetin was 30 days ago is passing on information that has at least some value in it somewhere.
