He was filmed partying with a bottle of champagne over the weekend. What in the hell happened there? That seems like a dramatic turnaround from last week.

I'd still take him in 2016 or 2017 Pats training camp, whenever his full downfall occurs. He's only 22.
I do not know what he went to rehab for, alcohol may never have been a problem for him, so I cannot put the champagne in a vacuum without knowing more about his issues.
I agree though he should have towed a line much better than he has.
Pettine is S T U P I D.

There has to be more, although it is the Browns
The kid was just partying. Pettine has continuously and openly question Manziel's ability. Their game vs the Bengals for example, Manziel was moving out of the pocket and making plays, they interview Pettine at halftime and all he says is that he would like to have Manziel make plays from the pocket. And Manziel went to **** in the second half. Can you clarify why you think he's the dumb one? He didn't draft Manziel, owner Jimmy Haslem did- not sure if you're aware of the famous story that Haslem drafted Manziel simply because a homeless man told him to?
The Browns didn't even interview him at the combine- just brought him in for a private workout, that was it.
I think Pettine is greatly limited in what he can do.
In the space of 3 years, Haslem has fired 2 presidents, 2 GM's, and 2 HC's. Think that's probably where the problem is.
Johnny Foosball has been under severe scrutiny RE his substance abuse problems and (more recently) serious allegations that he is a woman-beater. I've been part of an online accountability movement to help bring more needed attention to the latter. Several thousands of us signed the petition for the Browns to bench him until these more serious allegations receive their due focus. What in the hell happened there? Actually, since you mention it, if you believe the initial account his girlfriend gave, then yes he has committed a crime.Manziel will be a Cowboy very soon. The Browns should just cut him. This is stupid. I think Manziel can either flourish or burn to the ground in Dallas. He likes to party but has he committed any crime?

Oooooh. Bad bad boy. How we have fallen as a society. Didn't Wells pitch a perfect game hammered? Michael Irvin was into powder, no? How about the guy who pitched a game on LSD? I can list many many more.
Manziel in the right system can play. That whole team is dysfunctional.
Um...if you're just off having to undergo a stint in rehab, and you probably made lots of assurances to the coaching staff, and you're already developed a rep for not working as hard as you should, and you've /just/ been given an opportunity to be the starting QB, it's probably not the smartest move to be caught partying on your bye weekend. I'm only surprised they didn't cut his ass outright.Oooooh. Bad bad boy. How we have fallen as a society. Didn't Wells pitch a perfect game hammered? Michael Irvin was into powder, no? I think that was a very seriously edited video. They had to cut the Manziel vs Flacco when Joe tore up his knee.....Now it's McCown (??sp) vs....?????This doesn't make sense; last night ESPN only promoted Manziel as the star in next week's game about a dozen or so times. How could he only be a 3rd stringer?
I think Manziel is a perfect fit for arena football. He doesn't have the maturity or drive to make it as a qb in the nfl.
