I was shocked at how cheaply the Falcons got off. What they did is CLEARLY more egregious than Spygate.
Plus I agree with Mayo that no way the League gives takes a 2015 pick away from the Jets if they didn't do it for the Falcons.
I think the league is waiting to issue the Jets punishment so that it can push it to 2016.
I think this is setting up to be a giant let down for Pats fans..
The Wells investigation will come out as "inconclusive" and the only thing accomplished will be the further sullying of the Pats name without any proof.
The Jets will have to swap a 7th round pick in 2019 for their tampering
I happened to catch Mike & Mike this morning and they had Chris Mortensen on discussing the penalties to Cleveland and Atlanta. One of the hosts opened the questioning by saying that some people were suggesting that both teams got off light.
I don't remember what the commentary on Atlanta was, but the defense of Cleveland was laughable. Mort said that while people think missing the first four weeks isn't a hard hit, he emphasized what damage this does to Ray Farmet's reputation, and then asked hypothetical of what happens if Joe Thomas gets injured during the first week. Right Mort, and what happens if an asteroid hits the stadium in Cleveland?
I was waiting to see if there were any updates on the Pats issues, but what value would it have been considering who the messenger was?
ESPN would have been embarrassed at Mort's report if they had any shame.
