i don't think they'll be able to ask anyone else to carry willie ray's responsibilities. ergo, he defined that position and it vanishes when he goes.
IMO the D will heve to be reconfigured with bruschi, warren and the OLB on that side splitting stuff up.
but then there's the 'presence' thing. opponents had to watch out for mcginest every play he was on the field, which gave big sey some light.
BB/SP must believe they've got something good working to let an asset go like that.

Vrabel can approximate Willie's production by shifting back to OLB next year. I see the Pats drafting a developmental OLB and ILB in this draft and an improved Beisel starting at ILB to begin the season. When Beisel was prepping for the draft as a DE in 2001 I believe he weighed 270 lbs, then lost that weight while in the NFL. I wouldn't be surprised to see him at 250 lbs this year with a full offseason to bulk up.

It is one of the plausible scenerios, but I'm not going to right off the ROLB (or LOLB as Az likes to call him) position for TBC or Klecko or Claridge or Beisel. I also expect Beisel to come in a few pounds heavier this year.
