It's nice to speculate about Goodell getting a well-deserved firing (no doubt accompanied by an ill-deserved golden parachute). But I think Pash is much more likely to go first, for several reasons:
- Goodell and the owners alike can blame-shift bad legal and quasi-legal decisions to him.
- Kraft already has done a bit of that blame-shifting.
- The league's recent hiring of a COO was viewed as a demotion for Pash.
- The players surely hate Pash and would be glad to see him go.
- While Goodell gets credit -- deservedly or otherwise -- for various positive financial developments, Pash's area has had almost nothing go right for a couple years (specifically, since the latest CBA negotiation concluded).
