excerpt:

The NFL draft's lone highly regarded "big" back may be an even bigger gamble now for any team that selects LenDale White, but at least scouts know the other half of the stellar Southern California tailback tandem had a legitimate reason for not participating in the school's recent pro day auditions.

So the question is:

Does this raise of lower LenDale White's value?

True he cannot run, but also true, he had a legitimate reason for not running on Pro Days.

I think this will help him. No team is going to draft him becuase he is a burner. It is because of his power. 40 times are not as important as the fact that he had a legitiamte reason for not running.

This is going to raise his stock. No wonder he hasn't been working out.

I read somewhere that he is prone to gaining weight due to his body form. This explains any and all concerns with weight and strength.

Although 15 reps on the bench is still pretty pathetic.

ya he's def dropping now
i think the earliest he goes now is prob the colts
but they may pass on him too

Just curious why people (not just you) think a torn hamstring will drop a players draft value.

It isn't like a torn hamstring affects a players potential at all. It isn't an injury like Magahee's or Harrison's.

Or is a hamstring a possible career ending injury and therefore makes hm a risk?

This may buffer the concerns on his lack of running, however it doesn't "explain" the low reps.
IMO there's just something lacking in this guy in the few interviews I've seen of him. I'm left wondering what motivates him and if he has the desire or commitment to make it in the NFL.

I'm assuming teams who are interested would be bringing him in for an MRI themselves - but without that knowledge, my first thought is that he already earned a reputation for poor work habits. If he is (reportedly) in questionable shape now, partially blamed on the hamstring, how hard will he work to get ready for the start of the season? I can't see teams lining up to pay him first round money if they have any serious doubts about his willingness to put the effort into his recovery. Barring more detail on his medical status, he slips into the second round and maybe more.

Box=voice of reason.

Misinformation, disinformation. If they have any cred at all teams will stick with what THEY know and can see for themselves.

PFT.com sees a remote, possible Broncos conspiracy....at #22 due to their interest and White's oft-spoken interest (hometown).
