People can talk about Welker and Stallworth all they want, and they've been great...but Moss is THE difference maker. You want to talk about the additions that make this team different, it starts with 81.

If Moss wants to force the issue of an extension, I guess the Pats have little choice. :)

I thought this was not possible because RM had already re-negotiated this season. It doesn't matter. Moss is here to stay. He and the FO know a good thing when they live it. Tom would probably surrender salary to keep Randy in the fold.

That is correct, they can't renegotiate his current contract until the second day of the draft (that's they day they renegotioted his last one). My question is, does an extension that doesn't affect this years contract count as renegotiating the current contract?

Re: Do we see moss locked up this week?

By that time, Moss no longer has a contract. So I assume they could sign him on the first day of free agency; as its no longer a renegotiation.

Hopefully they come to terms long before then, and its just a matter of signing the paper.

    Lock him up....he's a STUD!

Randy opens up the entire field as he is ALWAYS double covered.

If you want to ask for a sticky about the rules, you should learn them yourself.

The deadline to sign him and have part of his signing bonus count towards this year is Tuesday.

Someone starts this topic every day. Can we just get a sticky for it?

    Re: Moss - Longterm Deal?

How about creating a sticky with the rules.

Moss renegotiated his contract to come here in the offseason. Basically, you can only renegotiate your contract once a year. I know the rule is a little more complex than that, but... the basic idea is we can not sign him again during the season even if both sides wanted to

No reason to worry though we still have the franchise tag

The operative word there is sign. The Pats are free to work out a deal with Moss, but they might/would have to sit on it until some point in the future.
