It would do my mood a world of good -- and help me better enjoy the rest of this season -- if the moderators would somehow sequester all threads referencing the latest mediot "Are the Patriots cheating again?" column/article/blog entry, etc. I'm not saying we shouldn't be made aware of the venom out there, but as the Pats continue to win/blow teams out this nonsense is going to escalate. Is there really a need for a separate thread each time some blogging moron from Anywhere U.S.A. decides to dump on the Patriots? You could even make it a sticky and call it "Haters Central" or something.

Agreed, there's no need to link something that looks like you came across on some 3rd grader's website that is nothing but pure hate and anti-Pats garbage. Why give that site hits?

We're in the middle of an amazing run and people will do anything to detract from that.

If we were only permitted ONE mega thread discussing the QB situation going forward in 2008, surely we don't need 20 threads discussing ever fool to bring up a taping incident that occurred over three years go.

    Second.

This is not news. It is a rehash of Spygate crap and an infusion of the same news I came to this site to avoid. Whether it is 1 story or 1000 current stories on the subject, I get it. The author [fill in the blank] refuses to accept the argument and you think he is unreasonable for voicing this perceived libel/slander. This line of BS was done to death in 2007.

If you are pining away for the discussion, scroll down the threads to 2007 and get your fill of the subject. Plenty of sympathetic reading material there.

YES!! If we can have a single one for Randy Moss, why not for the stupid articles in the media?

It will help us to at least have a list of the usual suspects.

Not to put too fine a point on this, but I don't feel that moving these threads individually to the Pub forum (as was done today with the latest) is the answer. Just consolidate them under one header in the main forum. I think most of us want to monitor what's being written/said out there, just keep it tidily sequestered.

I was thinking about this same subject last night. At the time I figured I would let it go because each of those threads was getting so many comments. I find myself - and I've seen others mention it too - that if a thread gets really large then I tend to bypass it altogether.

However it's obvious that some consolidation of threads would be beneficial. I've found myself merging threads more often recently simply because there are so many similar threads on the first page, that a new thread is started on an old subject; i.e., the old discussion drops to the second page, a person doesn't see the topic, so they start a new thread. Obviously that's not very productive or efficient.

    Thanks for the input.

Agreed, I'll do it when I see it.

Personally, I also lean toward merging all angry threads about some reporter daring to predict a Patriots loss. ("That idiot is WRONG about the future!")

The subject of spygate itself is redundant. This latest round of rehash does little more than underscore external and media frustration with this teams rebuilding on the fly project and it's fast becoming mediot groupthink to believe they have to weigh in one way or the other.

I think Tune's thread should become the mega thread and anyone who wants to waste time or sour their mood can just wallow in without letting the whiners kill the buzz and camraderie this 2010 team has worked so hard to create for themselves and this fan base.
