How nice of Bill to throw us a bone - hopefully there'll be something good on the field to read about.

Out of curiousity, who reports to passing camp. Is it the entire offense? Is it the offense and the secondary?

On EEI - per Stacey James - they said that any interviews today will be limited to reflections on Hill. They figure it is inappropriate to comment on "football matters" until after the funeral Sat. However Kraft is on EEI around 1 as a scheduled appearance as part of Dale and Holley's "owner series" They have had the other owners as well as J. Kraft for the Revs on and Kraft is the last, not sure if he'll talk football matters but my guess is yes since it was pre-arranged before Hill's death.

You guys must be excited now that the NFL has mandated that assistants coaches have to be available to the media, and that more practices have to be open to the public...a lot more info should be coming out soon....

I am disapointed that Stalworth is not there. Wonder why.

As limited as it is, good to read some on the field stuff instead of just the speculation stuff.. July 27th is how many days away, about 57.. getting closer.

I think he was required by the NFL, all teams were to open parts of their mini-camps to the media.

If it was up to Bill the media wouldn't even be allowed into the town of Foxboro...

Tip o' the hat to Breer for the most informative early glimpse. Interesting bits on Mills and particularly AD/Vrabel.

Re: Finally: An update from Passing Camp

    – Probably more significant was the use of Adalius Thomas. While Mike Vrabel seemed to be attached to playing on the edge, Thomas got most of his snaps at the “Mike” (weakside inside) alongside Tedy Bruschi. He worked some opposite Vrabel, with Junior Seau coming in and Rosevelt Colvin coming off. Thomas also saw reps as a 3-technique tackle in the 2-minute defense. Seau still has a soft cast covering his right arm.

I hope the plan is only to play Bruschi at SILB on 3rd downs with Seau playing 1st and 2nd downs. Bruschi played a lot of SILB in 2005 & 2006 and was not nearly as effective as he was at WILB.... he was also coming back from a stroke... but still, e seems to get steam rolled when playing SILB.

    Talk about versatility:
    - Vrabel & Thomas can play at least 3 maybe even 4 of the LB positions
    - Bruschi can play both inside spots...
    - Colvin, Vrabel, Thomas can play DE on a 4 man front
    - Thomas at DT, wow. We should start a pool to see how many spots he plays this season. I will start the bidding at 5 (DE, OLB, ILB, DT, S)

Re: Finally: An update from Passing Camp

It's an interesting note that defenses are usually ahead of offenses at this time of year. I guess it makes sense, especially this year considering all the new players we have on offense with not quite as many new players on D.

And I'll say it again, I will be SHOCKED if Thomas sees more time at ILB than OLB this season. That is just my opinion, but Belichick has certainly suprised me in the past.
