4 years at 52 million, seems high, but difficult to replace this guy who is a defensive stalwart...

The Sportstalk radio folks are having a "***********" over this "great" signing, but I seem to recollect last spring when they were all trying to run this guy out of town over his offensive capabilities... they were quick to provide all kinds of metrics about how bad he was on offense..

My view is that Smart is an important piece to this team, and his defensive abilities cannot be denied.. the market determines the cost..
