interesting game notes....
Red Team won 7-6 on a walk off hit by Max Lane.
While Maroney was the umpire, I do not remember him rolling the ball back to the pitcher was reported by someone on WEEI yesterday, further adding speculation to those ongoing injury rumors.
Wes Welker and Ellis Hobbs had a dance off between innings in which Welker won, but I think Hobbs got robbed.
Vince Wilfork had a race against a little kid from second base to home plate. Surpisingly Wilfork won, but not without controversy...at the start of the race Tedy Bruschi put a little tug on the litte kids shirt just to even out the race.
There were no apparent injuries suffered during the game, but it looked like one almost happend. Former Pats kicker Jon Smith while running home on a scoring play stepped on a baseball bat after crossing home. It looked awkward as if he may have twisted his ankle, but there was no injury. In fact, he just kept jogging to the dugout.
Star Player: Matt Cassel 2B, Red Team
Matt Cassel clearly has some baseball/softball talent. He was driving the ball from both the right and left sides of the plate all while playing stellar defense in the field. Runner up would be Doug Flutie, who had some nifty defensive skills of his own.
Vince Wilfork or Big Papi?
Welker on first....Cassel in the background
Welker makes a nice catch during warmups
Maroney the umpire, pre-game shot
