Everybody is entitled to their opinion...

He makes some good points, and doesn't seem to care that we beat them already. Although if the SB comes down to BB vs. Wade Phillips - I kinda like our chances!:)

to be honest..indianapolis is playing the best right now so if he had said indy i wouldve given him some credence.
Cowboys are very good and can be dangerous but their defense isnt as fast and sure tackling like the indy defense.

JJ is a little biased considering he was a coach over there during a good time. Outsiders can have their opinion. The Patriots will erase any doubt in February.

Not a lot of blueprint talk this week, despite the Cowboys almost being beaten by an inferior team. That's odd...

I'm going to disagree with Johnson, but you have to admit one thing: the Superbowl this year isn't an automatic for the AFC team like it has been in years past. The AFC Championship game AND the Super Bowl will be epic.

I absolutely want NE to get full of hearing how much better Dallas is playing than we are, as time goes on.

I want to read where the Cowboys are the NFC's great hope.

I want to read where they have better run offense (they do).

I want to see how much younger, faster and stronger their LB's are.

I want to become sick of seeing how they now are much improved over our first meeting with the health of their DB's now versus then.

Then - when we kick their asses the 2nd time - we will rule the football world!!

I disagree on Indy. They have played one good team in the last five weeks, struggled immensely to take a 13-10 win away from the Kansas City Chiefs, played a terrible team in Atlanta, played a fairly unimpressive game against the Jaguars, and were able to take advantage of a Ravens team without their starting CBs and that had been emotionally absent following a devastating loss to the Pats. The Colts are winning, which is the goal, but so are the Pats.

It's interesting that Jimmy brings up the Dallas defense (and I know one game does not make a season, but according to the media that one game against the Ravens did for the Pats). The Dallas D couldn't stop the run against a team that has been completely unable to muster a running game for a good majority of the season and Dallas could hardly muster any pressure against a team that has allowed 52 sacks on the season. That Dallas D looked absolutely terrible. Dallas does a lot of things well, but (and here's the problem with saying they're better than the Pats) the Patriots do them better. That, and they already went into Dallas and handed them a 21 point loss, hanging up 48 points on this wonderful Dallas defense.

I'm not convinced the Cowboys could beat the Packers with Favre playing 4 quarters. Most teams can pass and score on these guys. Green Bay would be better off with Woodson playing too.

Dallas has been winning but winning close most of the time. You'd have to say that Favre is due at Texas Stadium. It would likely be another close game in the 30's.

Romo can pull plays out of his butt, however how many did you see against NE? He had a couple of good drives and got them the lead but it was all downhill from there. Look at the Buffalo game too - disguised coverages are his kryptonite.

As for Favre, bring it on. We've been waiting 11 years for this.

What doesn't make sense here is this:

Much of his rant goes on about how "if" an older Patriots defense doesn't get rested over the remaining portion of the season.

Well, I'm not sure you could ask for a more restful setup to the Super Bowl. First, they have two of the worst teams in the NFL coming in the next two weeks, both games I'm sure will be over fairly early and we'll be able to give our defense a little rest. Then a quick shoot down 95 to play a Giants team that will also be resting up for the playoffs(and also not very good).

Then we have a bye week with no travel. Two games, then two weeks off before the SB. I just don't think the tired old defense kicks in at this time of year. If anything, that issue kicked i and rode through a couple weeks ago with the Eagles game and through the Pittsburgh game with the strange night schedule and Monday night games. I think the blowouts early in the year took a lot of heat off our defense as well. The hardest is over. We have it good here on out.

Woodson being out def hurt GB.

Favre? They lose that game by 30+ if he doesn't get hurt with the way he was playing.

Over the next 6-7 weeks, this team only travels once... to NY.

In the NFC, watch out for the Seahawks. They have 2 good backs, a slew of WR's, a very good QB and some talent on D. I see them going into GB and leaving a winner, and then possibly beating Dallas.

the Seattle offense is very similar to the Pats. They will be dangerous.

I'd bet a beer that Jimmy had mostly written that article before yesterday's games and then decided to go ahead with it anyway. If you look at the last three weeks, it's hard to argue that the Pats didn't look super against the Eagles and Ravens while the boys disposed of the Jets and Packers. Over that period, you could say they have played better. But watching the Boys vs. Lions, I think that the weaknesses of Dallas were exposed. If you get them off balance early, you can build a lead.

I go back and forth when I think about the team I'd like the Patriots to play in the SB, assuming they get by some tough AFC oppo. I think I'd prefer the Cowboys because of the team's, and particularly Romo's, inexperience on the big stage. Favre has been there and done that, so I'd worry about him more. But, IF we do have a Pats-Boys SB, I feel pretty sure of two things: one, it will be the most-watched TV event in history if the Pats are 18-0; two, the Pats will have to jump out front and get ahead by at least two scores. Then, it will be a three ring circus the rest of the way with the Pats winning.

The Boys will lose simply due to the fact that the hype will overwhelm them. They are a young team, confident sure, but still novices when it comes to playoff pressure, not to mention SUPER BOWL pressure.

Wade Philips is great in commercials but who are we kidding? Belichick will eat this guy alive.

Could you imagine the hype leading up to the SB if its indeed the Pats vs Cowboys. You know Dallas players are going to do so much trash talking while the Pats take the high road.Like Rodney said ''Actions Speaks louder than words''.

that little meat ball ruined the dolphins by trying to make them not a "throw only" offense. they still havent recovered from the johnson-wannstedt experiment. BB knows how to win, any style, any time, and almost any player composition. meatball cannot say the same

Jimmy's just polishing up the Lombardi by trying to make a case for building parity...

If Detroit's PK doesn't miss a 35 yarder earlier, Americas team blows a game much like the Buffalo character builder...and that's not even getting into the quality of the opponent's overall offense. The Seahags and SD Superwhiners and the Manning's milkman's son's team... :blahblah: are maddeningly inconsistent and that they haven't managed to change that means it isn't gonna change come playoff time.

    Nice try though, Jimbo.

It would be great to see Alexander, Woods and maybe even... gulp... Chad Brown get some reps over the next three weeks. I would like to see if Alexander / Woods have any potential to be adequate backups. And playing them would give Bruschi/Seau/Vrabel/Thomas a little bit of a rest.

Good article from Johnson, I like him a lot. Dallas is playing great on offense and their D can really stop the run. I just see the Pats as too deep and Brady just too good to lose to Dallas.

That being said I think Dallas and Indy are the only teams that match up well against the Patriots. Both teams have the potential to score a lot of points.
