Assuming the cap space is to sign someone what do the Pats need?
Wynn, Jonnu, Agahlor and Henry are all in the 9 million salary range. If they're in the 4.5 - 5m range for cap space now, that's still in line with just having some room for in season operating expenses. I think if they're planning to sign anyone significant at this point, they would need another move as well.
All they need is operating expenses. By the end of camp depending on injuries and success or failure of prospects they may need or want a player or two for depth. If they're in the 4.5 - 5m range for cap space now, that's still in line with just having some room for in season operating expenses. Was listening to a live stream with Miguel a few days ago... Cant remember why, but it had to do with a recent signing... He stated that they used about 19m of cap space over the course of the season last year (or the year before, cant 100% remember) ... those numbers include adding and releasing players (before, during and after camp, adding depth players due to injury during the season, promoting/demoting players to and from the practice squad (there is a cost associated with this - who knew? oh right, Miguel did)...All they need is operating expenses. They’ll have players of their own they’re willing to trade or cut so space will open up that way as well. I suspect they’ll extend players also who show up this year prepared to be part of the solution going forward.
When you (currently) have the second most cap space in the league in 2023 you have plenty of cap space. They’re just doling it out judiciously at this point.
It's right in the CBA. PS players get paid like they're on the 53 for the weeks they're promoted.promoting/demoting players to and from the practice squad (there is a cost associated with this - who knew? oh right, Miguel did)...
lol that you think i read the cba unless i absolutley have toIt's right in the CBA. PS players get paid like they're on the 53 for the weeks they're promoted.
I guess they will wait until camp is over and cuts are made...then they will see who can improve the team.Assuming the cap space is to sign someone what do the Pats need?
