The last thing I want to do is talk about the Super Bowl, but I feel like to have something to add here.
Moss was open for a TD near the end of the second quarter when Brady was strip sacked. If the line blocks on that play, it's 6 points. This was confirmed by Brady himself in his interview on WEEI.
After the Super Bowl, Moss mentioned in his interview that he was open deep often, but that every time he looked back, Tom would be on the ground.
I watched that game numerous times, and never noticed much single coverage on Randy Moss, so I respectfully disagree with the post that said Randy was singled frequently in that game.
If the line was able to either pass block OR run block in that game, we wouldn't have to live with the biggest upset in Super Bowl history.
If anything, the Patriots should have tried to go to Randy MORE often in the Super Bowl, as he didn't have a catch until late in the 2nd quarter.
There was a game where Tom was holding the ball and looking too much for Randy Moss and it was the second Dolphins game. In my opinion they just wanted to break records right there, so they threw a lot of deep balls in to coverage.
