Is Moss teaching Brady to hold the ball too long??????

The last thing I want to do is talk about the Super Bowl, but I feel like to have something to add here.

Moss was open for a TD near the end of the second quarter when Brady was strip sacked. If the line blocks on that play, it's 6 points. This was confirmed by Brady himself in his interview on WEEI.

After the Super Bowl, Moss mentioned in his interview that he was open deep often, but that every time he looked back, Tom would be on the ground.

I watched that game numerous times, and never noticed much single coverage on Randy Moss, so I respectfully disagree with the post that said Randy was singled frequently in that game.

If the line was able to either pass block OR run block in that game, we wouldn't have to live with the biggest upset in Super Bowl history.

If anything, the Patriots should have tried to go to Randy MORE often in the Super Bowl, as he didn't have a catch until late in the 2nd quarter.

There was a game where Tom was holding the ball and looking too much for Randy Moss and it was the second Dolphins game. In my opinion they just wanted to break records right there, so they threw a lot of deep balls in to coverage.

During the regular season, Tom was sacked fewer times than in recent years. However, he has, IMO, always been a leader in hits received after release, while drawing late hit penalties very seldom. This is nothing new, just a matter of going for the long ball more often, like a kid with a new toy.

More than anything else, this is what makes Brady a HOF QB. He will wait until the last moment, throw the strike, and take the hit. So many times I've seen the ball leave his hands as a shoulder plows into him, and the ball fly downfield 15 or 20 yards and land perfectly.

If we're looking for what will win the #2 position over the next 4 preseason games between Cassel and Gutz, it's that tremendous awareness and focus and courage.

I don't believe he holds the ball too long. He holds it as long as necessary and last February, the hit came before Brady's man was open.

Yup, I'd worry more about Kaczur not holding his blocks long enough than Brady holding the ball too long. The Jax game showed me that Brady never forgot his roots in the short game. They game-play and look for their opportunities. This is just as much McDaniels calling a play that has Moss as the first read, as it is Brady holding the ball too long.

Nick Kaczur? I'd worry morre about Matt Lightweight is he even still on this Team? What a putrid game by Matt Llight in the SB he had his balls handed to him.

I suspect we will see Moss on more hitch/curl/slant routes this year. Also, if Chad Jackson shows up, he has the speed to go verticle. Last year, I thought they would use Stallworth vertically on occasion. (The longest play last year was Stallworth In Dallas)

It's important to remember that passing games take 3 years to reach full effect.

And that was mostly YAC.

Really? I have not heard that before.
