A reminder of an immoral construct that no moral God would ever create.

Even Hitler and Stalin stopped at human life and did not go after his victims spiritual life. The Bible God is way more vile and we can put no one above him.

that it is my view that all right wing literalists and fundamentals hurt all of us who are moral religionists, --- as well as those who do not believe. Literalists hurt their parent religions --- and everyone else, be he a believer or not. Literalists and the right wing of religions make us all into laughing stocks. Their God of talking animals, genocidal floods and retribution has got to go. So must beliefs in fantasy, miracles and magic. These are all evil.

They also do much harm to their own.

    African witches and Jesus

    Jesus Camp 1of 3

    Death to Gays.

For evil to grow my friends, all good people need do is nothing. Fight them when you can. It is your duty to our fellow man.

    Regards

You know, I can all do this with better music by listening to My Life in the Bush of Ghosts. Eno and Fripp? Eno and Byrne? Eno and somebody. Look into it.

I don't see how the OP is going to influence anyone.

Anyone can start half a dozen threads with difficult questions where Twitter won't suffice...it's easy to feel superior after dropping a fistful of questions on religion, politics, or some other topic. I've seen this at other forums. And maybe those bunch of questions was just skimming sites like Richard Dawkins'. And if it turns into an argument, positions will harden - not soften.

So I don't see the point of this.

Yes but does that illusory God seem just to you or unjust?
No sitting on the fence now friend.

I am not sure if I have ever seen nature be unjust. Care to give us an example of what you see nature doing that is unjust?

Seems that your mind is quite closed. You do not follow your own scriptures. I assume you are Christian as they often bitch without speaking to the questions asked.

And you will not see the point of my question without answering the O.P. honestly. If your religion will let you.

You should know why questions are posed if you follow your bible the way I do.

1 Thesalonian 5;21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

well the definition of just is basically fair and thus, unjust means unfair.....i would consider a child born with a serious mental or physical disability unfair.........would you not?

    Candid.
"It is demonstrable that things cannot be otherwise than as they are; for as all things have been created for some end, they must necessarily be created for the best end.”

Nature always creates life for it's best possible end. Life is the ultimate gift but nature cannot guarantee that we will see that end as the best. If we could somehow get into the minds of all those like you describe, I would think that most would likely say that they will take whatever amount of life nature can give them.

I hear what you are saying but nature has no choice in what conditions life starts in. Nature, unlike you or I, cannot feel pity for those we think might want or need it. Many in a hard place do not want or need it.

    ----------------------

Now if God is doing the creating and not nature, then he is definitely unjust in creating a defect in a human intentionally.

Intent is all important when judging for fairness and whether God is a good judge or not.

    DL

so you're saying that morally fair/unfair are nonexistent concepts in "nature"?

In a descriptive sense i would agree with you

In a normative sense i wouldn't......but im an idealist

And I am French and would need a definition on your use of descriptive and normative.
But it is not necessary, I think.

Let me introduce the term mens rea. Latin for a guilty or evil mind or intent.
It is one of the factors that must be satisfied if a judge is to find someone guilty of anything.

Morality, fairness or unfairness cannot be assigned to a non-sentient or non-thinking entity.

It can never do evil as it cannot conceptualize it.

I have no idea but hope that satisfied your "In a normative sense".

I am off to the dictionary just in case.;)

i think we are sort of on the same page.....no wonder, you're french......i thought you were a philosopher with such opaque prose

normative means the way things should be
descriptive means the way things are

Thanks and yes, I think we are close.

I do try to be clear in what I write but do mess up sometimes. I find that sometimes I will write something and some will praise it while others will find it difficult.

I do the best I is.

I was just making an observation on your tactics and suggesting there is a better way.

I know my Bible just enough to avoid the endless bickering you apparently are inviting me to.
