From KFFL:
Patriots | Mills signs four-year contract
Mon, 17 Jul 2006 17:40:45 -0700

Len Pasquarelli, of ESPN.com, reports New England Patriots TE Garrett Mills has signed a four-year contract. Picked in the fourth round, Mills received a $462,500 signing bonus as part of his contract worth $2.072 million. The deal includes minimum base salaries all four years. There is an "escalator" that increases Mills' salary in 2009 that is based on predetermined playing time and performance levels.

seems like this this a good contract for Mills.
I think he's going to be around for awhile.

Dang what are the Pats doing breaking the bank on this guy! He's almost as risky as the Andrews contract!!!

Ok.. *sarcasm mode off*

It looks like they're working all of these contracts the same:

4 years (max), minimum salaries, with 4th year mid-level RFA tender escalator.

A number of times, i eventually find things ... that JR4 has already posted.

I, for one, appreciate his putting them up pronto ... and if thread discipline is violated, que sera.
(There are, of course, nemerous other instances where even cursory scanning
of the first page would spare us a superfluous thread!)

As to Mr. Mills - whom JR posted about before i re-invented his wheel a day or two ago - sounds like a fair deal.
I hope he makes all his incentives.
And please spare us any posturing prima donnas above him.

It would have to be a low-level ($600K) RFA tender. Mid-level is about 1.4 million, which would drive the contract total (with sb, and salary for first three years) way about the reproted $2 mil total.

Good catch.

The 2 million total comes from his salaries and signing bonus
462,500 signing bonus
275,000 salary in 2006
360,000 salary in 2007
445,000 salary in 2008
530,000 salary in 2009

comes to a total of $2,072,500 before any escalators
