It's a good idea, considering the amount of sh#tfaced people drive home from the games. Parents in Foxboro should be happy. I would say at least 1/4 of cars leaving from those parking lots are driven by someone who's been drinking. And even though the police try to keep people off local roads, there are plenty of ways to get on them...kudos to whoever came up with this idea. Can you imagine being the parent of a child who gets hit by a car while trick or treating because some jackhole decided to get hammered at a Pats game and sought a shortcut through Foxboro?

Lets be honest here. Does anyone really think a 10 year old gives a crap whether he gets his candy on the 30th or 31st?

Imagine the combination of mischief night and Halloween in Foxboro...

Kids will have eggs in one hand to throw on houses windows and cars and a trick or treat bag in the other hand :)

I think that this is a great idea. My kids always wanted to get going and it's true that they won't care which night they get to go on a sugar bender.

I live in Haverhill, MA and they moved Trick-or-Treating to the last Saturday in October about 15 years ago. Hasn't made any difference here and the kids have just as much fun. Plus you can always go again on the real Halloween someplace else and double your candy haul. :D

If I was a kid in Foxborough, I'd be psyched about the prospect! My sister lives in Dover, NH where they always do their trick-or-treating the night before Halloween. This means my kid and my nephews get 2 nights back-to-back to build up their candy inventory because we go to Dover the night before and come back home the following night.:rocker:

The traditionalist in me hates it, the pragmatist/parent likes it. And every other part of me hates the degenerates that make it necessary.

Well I tell you one thing, in my neighborhood, trick or treating goes from 1600-2000 hours on Halloween, and all those kids who come to my door, better hope that Mrs. FTW is around, cuz I'll be watching the game! (and disconnecting the door bell)

Safe kids, non school night and no aggrivation. Makes sense to me.

Saw the hot mommy that was advocating for it on TV last night and brought it to the selectmen ... she can trick-or-treat in my neighborhood if she wants ! Go soccer moms! Go coogers .... I mean pats.

Let's pretend for a minute that the town didn't change the date, and it became a problem for the kids, the same residents complaing about the change :confused:would be complaining and asking why the town didn't make a change and wasn't looking out for the kids best interest. This is a smart move and it's all designed around safety. :rocker:

Personally, I think everyone everywhere should move the trick or treating a day earlier. I think Saturday is a better evening for the kids to go Trick or Treating. I don't have kids, but I know my nieces are so hopped up on candy that night that they never get to bed before midnight and are zombies the next day.

I wouldn't be able to pay attention to the Halloween game with the way the cheerleaders will be dressing.

So true. In fact, if it was me (and if it was my kids too), I'd be angling with my parents to go out on both the 30th and the 31st, in the next town or a relative's town where the tricks & treats were on for the 31st. Double candy! A win-win situation!
