Obviously not made by someone who understands the Patriots:

21. Chad Greenway LB Iowa - Fine
52. Daneal Manning CB Abilene Christian - A Workout Warrior from an obscure school, yeah, that's exactly the kind of guy Belichick takes on Day 1.
75. Travis Wilson WR Oklahoma - I'm OK with this pick, but there were other WRs on the board I like more
86. Anthony Smith S Syracuse - Versatile, Useful guy. OK
106. Spencer Havner LB UCLA - I'm not sold on him, and I would have let him slide to one of the next two picks, but I can't argue too loudly[/b]
118. Leon Washington RB Florida St - No way in hell. Doesn't fit the team stylistically or character-wise -
136. Barry Cofield DE Northwestern - Love this pick. With the 3-4 explosion league-wide, I'll be shocked if he's available, though
191. Lawrence Vickers FB Colorado - Have you watched the Patriots offense lately?
205. Jon Huston K Ohio St - I have a bias against drafting kickers, but fine
206. Delanie Walker WR Central Missouri St - I would pick a better flier than Walker, but who cares
229. Travis Williams LB Auburn - I'm not going to quarrel with a 7th rounder, but where would he play?

And of course, what GM DH 44 would have done, in the no-trade world:

#21 - Manny Lawson OLB Others considered: Greenway, Mangold, Pope, Maroney, Hali

#52 - Joe Klopfenstein TE Others considered: Colledge, O Harris, Bullocks, Griffen

#75 - Cedric Griffen CB Others considered: Hagan, Hass, O'Callaghan, O Harris, Dvoracek, R Wright

#86 - Mike Hass WR Others considered: O Harris, Schefler, Chester, Dvoracek, R Wright, Cofield, Wilkinson, Dobbins

#106 - Tim Dobbins ILB Others considered: Havner, O Harris, Schefler, Chester, Dvoracek, Pittman, Blue, J Harrison

#118 - Barry Cofield DE Others considered: Chester, Pittman, J Harrison, Daniels, Day, Gocong, Iwuh, LaCasse, McClover, McGarigle

#136 - Greg Eslinger C Others considered: Cook, Pittman, J Harrison, Daniels, Day, Gocong, LaCasse, McGarigle

#191 - Steve Fifita NT Others considered: Gocong, LaCasse, Shlegel, M Brown, Aromashodu

#205 - Kai Parham ILB Virginia (Not even on my board, but this is just ridiculously late) Others considered: Gocong, Lacasse, Schlegel, Aromashodu, I Martin, Chick, D Brooks

#206 - Ryan LaCasse OLB

#229 - Damien Rhodes RB Others considered: Schlegel, Aromashodu, Chick, D Brooks, D Howard, B Anderson, Bieneman, Schable, Guillory, Kudla, Fudge, Finnegan, Rushing, Q Porter, A Jennings, Toone, Keith, M King

I would be incredibly stoked with that draft. The only change I'd like to see is trying to get Maurice Drew in there.

He went pick #51 , so it would take a small trade up.

I went through it like you did. Loved your 1st 4 round. I am aiming to upgrade return teams so I went B. Williams over Cofield in the 5th. Gocong, Parham, and (surprise) D. Olsen in the 6th. Cooper Wallace in 7th.
I would be really happy w/ either draft.:rocker:

I want Klopfenstein at 52, but Manning is a fine addition. It would mean that bb wanted more competition at corner. Would you distrust bb's analysis if he picked a DB.

I would trust Belichick's analysis completely, regardless who he drafted or what position they play, of course. If I was going to go corner at #52, I would have taken Griffen. Fortunately he was still there in the next round.
