He’s going to be the one that got away, but sometimes you can’t change fate. There was no realistic way to keep him.

It's kind of like this. If you have the perfect wife who does everything for you, cooks the best food, keeps the house spotless, helps you raise amazing kids, is someone you enjoy being around, all your neighbors are jealous of you, and she gives you the most mind blowing sex of your life... you don't toss her away after being flawless for 17 years because this sexy new chick at your office that flirts with you that you think might be something is going to leave town soon and you want her to stay.

Jimmy might be great for a long time. He might end up being terrible. But at the end of the day, the mystery of Jimmy wasn't worth losing the gaurantee of Brady .

Terrible analogy. The wife is there for life, 17-year QBs in the NFL aren't.

Ok here's a better analogy. Your QB averages over the course of 15 full seasons played goes to the AFCCG 73% of the time, the Super Bowl 46% of the time, and wins the championship 33% of the time.

The next best QB in history at those numbers Super Bowl wise is Joe Montana who realistically played 13 full seasons. He averages an NFCCG 53% of the time and a Super Bowl appearance and win 30% of the time.

Then you have Bradshaw followed by Staubach, followed by Elway as the next 3 most successful QB's as far as consistent playoff success (Aikman had 3 but his teams weren't in there.

So statistcally speaking Jimmy in an average career would have to be one of the top 5 QB of all time in terms of success for his entire career to be worth 3 more years of Brady
