Thursday Oct 31 Updates:

Aqib Talib in full pads along with rest of Patriots roster | The Blitz with Jeff Howe & Karen Guregian | Boston Herald

The Patriots have had perfect attendance at practice for the second consecutive day, an obviously positive sign for a team that has struggled with injuries all season.

With the team in full pads, cornerback Aqib Talib was wearing the thigh pads in his game pants, unlike last week's padded session when he was obviously still ailing from the hip injury. In the grand scheme of things, that's probably not the ultimate indicator of progress, but it's at least something.

Tight end Rob Gronkowski was also present after his hamstring popped up on yesterday's injury report. So far, there's been no indication that the hamstring is a big concern.

Running back Shane Vereen was again in attendance. He is eligible to return in Week 11 against the Panthers.

It Is What It Is » Patriots list 11 as limited at Wednesday practice; Rob Gronkowski (hamstring) and Tom Brady (shoulder) also listed

While the Patriots had perfect attendance at practice on Wednesday, they did have 11 players who were limited, including wide receiver Danny Amendola, tight end Rob Gronkowski, cornerback Aqib Talib and defensive lineman Tommy Kelly.

Two other interesting notes: one, tight end Rob Gronkowski has suffered from back and forearm issues all year in the wake of his offseason surgeries, but his hamstring was added to the report on Wednesday. And two, quarterback Tom Brady was a full participant, but was still listed on the report with a right shoulder issue. It marks the second consecutive week Brady has been on the injury report — last week, he was also listed with a right shoulder.

Here’s a look at the complete report from Wednesday:

Limited Participation
WR Danny Amendola (groin)
CB Kyle Arrington (groin)
RB Brandon Bolden (knee)
OL Marcus Cannon (shoulder)
WR Julian Edelman (thigh)
TE Rob Gronkowski (back/forearm/hamstring)
TE Michael Hoomanawanui (knee)
DL Tommy Kelly (knee)
CB Aqib Talib (hip)
RB Leon Washington (ankle)
DB Tavon Wilson (hamstring)

Full Participation
QB Tom Brady (right shoulder)
WR Matthew Slater (wrist)

Jeff Howe and Chris Price are reporting that attendance is again perfect.

Both cryptically make it sound as if that perfect attendance includes everybody being in pads, but I'll believe that part when it's said more clearly. Talib, however, is definitely in pads.

lol I Hear Ya! Took a shot.

Dunno but I'll be there too
My take Gronk playing 95%
Talib 50%

Cool Thanx. I was thinkin with Bye Week comin up Pats might rest Talib another 2 weeks play it safe. I believe earliest Vareen could come back is vs Panthers hopefully he's a go.

Interested on how we play the Talib/Arrington injuries. Leon I think should just keep out until after the bye but not sure how we match up against the Steelers if both CB's need to sit. I think we can exploit Pitt up front minimizing their loss but if not it's a big risk with Brown/Sanders and Heath.

Week 9: Friday practice peek - Kelly not spotted - Extra Points - Boston.com

After returning to practice on a limited basis Wednesday and Thursday, DT Tommy Kelly (knee) was not spotted during the media-access window of Patriots practice Friday morning.

If Kelly was unable to practice because of a setback to his knee, it would put his availability for Sunday against the Steelers in doubt.

All other players were present; practice uniform for the day was shells and shorts/sweats.

For the first time this season, the Patriots are practicing inside the Dana-Farber Fieldhouse. During his news conference, coach Bill Belichick said the windy conditions posed a safety hazard for team personnel who film practice from high on lifts, which is why things were moved indoors.

It Is What It Is » Tommy Kelly ruled out for Sunday's game against Steelers

Defensive tackle Tommy Kelly practiced on Wednesday and Thursday this week, but he was sidelined Friday morning, and on Friday afternoon, the team listed him as out for Sunday’s game against the Steelers. Kelly suffered a knee injury in last month’s loss to the Bengals, and hasn’t seen game action since.

Meanwhile, cornerbacks Kyle Arrington (groin) and Aqib Talib (hip), as well as running back Leon Washington (ankle) are all among the questionable for Sunday’s game.

Injury report: Kelly out; Gronk probable - New England Patriots Blog - espnBoston

A hamstring injury has limited Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski in practice each day this week, but he remains probable to play Sunday against the Steelers. Gronkowski also continues to rehab his back and forearm following offseason surgeries

Gronkowski, who may have suffered the hamstring injury versus the Dolphins Sunday, was a full participant in last Friday's practice, the first time he completed a full workout this regular season. He was also designated as probable heading into the Week 8 Dolphins game.

Coach Bill Belichick was asked about the hamstring issue for Gronkowski on Friday. "We’ll just list the injuries today at the end of practice on the injury report the way we see it," he said. "We’ll do that with everybody."

Cornerback Aqib Talib, who has missed the past two games due to a hip injury, is questionable to play after practicing on a limited basis each day this week. The 27-year-old has developed into a top defensive player and is often used to shadow an opponent's best receiver.

In his absence, the Patriots have started veteran cornerback Kyle Arrington (who is questionable due to a groin issue) opposite second-year player Alfonzo Dennard.

Quarterback Tom Brady, who was limited during Thursday's practice due to a right shoulder issue, is probable and is likely to play Sunday. He was also limited in last Thursday's practice.

Brady has appeared to deal with discomfort in his throwing hand over each of the past two weeks, but has insisted that he is not working through any sort of issue.

The Patriots have ruled out just one player, defensive tackle Tommy Kelly (knee), for Sunday.
