Edit: I also find it hilarious that they call it "back channels" like its Russia and United States. These guys take themselves way too seriously.

I hope not. The differences are way too big and I assume that would mean Kraft would settle for a lesser punishment. I'd rather he fights this all the way and loses than settle.

I assume that will be part of any deal if it were to be reached. That's the starting point because both sides know Brady will win in court AND expose some nasty electronic communications in the league office

I think it would take even more than that. I think the NFL has to literally admit they tried to set up a sting and then had Wells twist everything when it was obvious nothing was done to any phucking footballs.

Just an apology and exoneration wouldnt be enough because all the lemmings would just say Kraft bought off someone or the Pats get special treatment.

Actually is dosent matter - No matter what happens its a permanent stain on the brand only because the public wants just that.

Those nasty electronics communications MUST be exposed to the world.

It is easy to just want to get to get out of this with Brady and the Pats intact, but the agenda that the league and some teams have against the Pats needs to be exposed and punishments levied, people fired, and the Pats compensated.

Otherwise we'll be going through this all again.

These are the things that can make a difference. Goodell gone shifts the blame to him and a real investigation into a sting - or acknowledgement there was one going on could help.

It is more probable than not that the league went through Mike Kensils phone and saw "Chris Mortenson" under his favorites and recently called list and said OH SH*T.

From the start BK has made it clear that he didn't have a problem with Goodell but some of the other front office people (Kensil, Vincent, ???). This whole thing got started by Kensil not knowing the IGL and thinking he caught the Pats red handed, not sure what happened from there but Kensil is the facilitator of this whole mess and probably the source of Morts leak. Goodell and those guys work for the owners (Kraft being one) and I would think BK would go after the biased a-holes in the front office. Not sure what or how he would do it but I would think that's what his problem is.

Yep, the NFL has a good legal team. Or they even went outside for a 3rd party opinion and found out just that. They have a great big loser on their hands and the Pats/TB have a real defamation case.

Or, the NFL has no case period and no grounds. which is not helping matters.

I have a feeling Mr. Kraft's interview with King woke up some of the owners. I would be disappointed if Kraft settled for anything less than what Ausbacker posted above.

I wonder how upset Kraft is specifically about the part of all this that seems to show the other owners out to get him, Jerry Jones publicly opposing him, etc. I suspect he thought the whole thing was a lot more collegial than that.

Of course, nowhere is it written that team owners need to get along. Soon after Dave Glass took over leadership of the Kansas City Royals, he told my father how annoyingly stupid the other baseball team owners were ...
